Let's hope October sees some more activity this week... especially from Buffalo. I believe most of the other visa offices (e.g. London) are handing out PPR pretty regularly now. That means we're next up to bat, ladies and gentlemen. :)

Happy Valentines Day... and remember, distance makes the heart grow fonder!

Ohhh London is still doing well. Shorttalk and krishwaiting...we have virtually the same timeline as westofherspine in the October group...their eCas went into process Friday 11th of Feb!

Come on Buffalo...got some catching up to do...don't worry Pharoh, they will!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My file was received Nov 18, sponsor approved Dec 15 with a letter stating the file was being transferred to Buffalo. I haven't received anything in the mail or email that it has been received or is processing. Have most people that filed in November not received any news yet? I see a couple did at the end of January. I did change my mailing address and notified them through their online system and via fax. There's no way to track progress through E-CAS, is there? I can only view the sponsor approval part when i login with my husband's info. I am getting worried!

You're more than likely experiencing a delay, as a result of your address change. Anything like that can throw CIC off their "normal" processing times. Is it possible you've received your AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) at the old address? I doubt it's there, but perhaps worth a check? I believe most, if not everyone, have received a change on eCas, before getting an actual letter.

My file was received Nov 17, sponsor approved Dec 13. My eCas changed to 'In Process' on Feb 1, and I got my AOR letter in the mail a few days after.

You should be hearing something soon, but until then, there's not much you can do. I'd give it another couple weeks - perhaps even tomorrow you'll hear something. Tuesdays are the big eCas update days, so that's when most people see some activity. If you don't hear anything in a couple weeks, you can possibly follow up to Buffalo with an email and fax (they may not respond to other), but that's about all you can do.

Let us know when you hear something, and good luck!

So I checked ECAS again, thinking that it would only show the sponsorship decision since I am logging in using the receipt number and my husband's information, and it shows permanent resident application in process as of Jan 31. Yay! Still haven't received a letter, but glad I checked again!

Congrats! You should have the actual letter by now... can you see if it was sent to the wrong address?

So I got a letter yesterday (a real letter horray!) from Sydney case processing centre and here's what they said...

Initial assessment of your application has been completed and your selection interview has been waived....

However in order to finalise your application a visa officer has requested that you submit the documents marked below (within 60 days)

Now they are asking for one personal document I agree with but they are asking me to redo the Schedule 1 form, paying careful attention to Q11 & Q15 (provide all information since age 18). So I redid it, then I worried about last night I didn't do it well enough (maybe I should mention every single job??) so I'm going to do an extra sheet to submit with it.

the bad news (really bad news) is that they are asking for my police check & driving history report, doh! I did send it in seperately at the start of January with a note and my cliend ID number but looks like either they didn't get it (noooooo! I'll have to respend and reapply!) or they did and they've somehow lost it.

So I wrote them an email last night explaining the situation re: the missing documents and asked them to please look and let me know. Waiting on that email and trying not to hold my breath in the meantime!

Hi canadayogini,

I'm so sorry for this slight setback. I hope you can get everything to them (in some cases, again), and they'll immediately resume processing and issuing PR to you. I know Buffalo has a habit of not looking at files for 90~ days, after additional documents are requested. I really pray that is not the same with Sydney. You've had enough troubles so far as it is, and in reality, you should be among the first of November applicants to receive PR.

I hope you hear something from them soon. In the meantime, get the additional docs they're missing (re-do the ones you previously sent in, just in case it got lost, etc), and bug the hell out of them for some kind of update. I hope they don't put your application on hold for 60 days, before resuming processing of it.

It sounds like you're almost there. If they waived the interview, they're obviously willing to issue you PR. They just want additional docs (some of which you already mailed), to make the file 'complete'.

Praying for PR for you soon...

Well congratulations on the good news. At least you don’t have to have an interview and you have got through the initial assessment.

I wonder why they asked you to redo the one form. I would definitely put every job you have had so there are no time gaps at all in your history.

With the police check and driving history, the officer reviewing your case might not realise that you have submitted these and they are sitting in a pile ready to be matched up. See what they say in the email or if you can give them a ring, which might help match the documents up.

Good luck with all this. It shouldn’t be too much longer for you to wait now! Let us know how it goes!

Hey hey,

this happened to us as well. My husband lived in Melbourne and our office in colombo had "lost" the document (that's what we assusmed) and we sent in a certified copy. But I do remember someone telling me Pharoh telling me on this forum that they have recently changed the format/appearnce of the certificate and the embassies seem to be getting it mixed up.

My advice - Send in a certified copy with a letter saying that you already handed in the originals and attached is a valid copy.

Here's the thing that I have learned through this process - Give them whatever they ask for. I had a friend who went through something similar with the Aussi Police record and she had to resubmit too. If you don't have a copy, get a new one.. and get it done asap. it's not that bad really. All the CIC offices have a tendancy to misplace documents and its useless expecting them to dig throug the docs and re-attach because just imagine how many documents are coming in on a daily basis to be processed.

Moral of the story - You already sent the document, but its easier to send the record vs waiting for them to find it and attach it to your file because if there is one thing these ppl are good at... its Procrasinating!!

Thanks everyone, really helpful advice. I phoned their offices this morning but they only do email communication... so I'm still waiting on the reply to be sure.

The police won't print another "original"... the only option would be to reapply, a long process :-(

I also was concerned about the IMM0008 Schedule 1 form, Q11, as to how much detail to go into with activity, eg. do I need to list every single holiday or travel as well (I used to travel for business so that would be a nightmare and would be hundreds of lines long).

So anyways, still waiting on the reply. The nice lady on the phone (without looking at my case specifically) said I should hear the reply today so then I will be more clear on what to do.

<fingers tapping inpatiently>

I don't believe you list vacations taken unless the embassy you're applying to requires you too for example Paris. You would list the travel is for example you werent working. You do have to list every job you've ever had though.
