so here is a question.....i think it was gutsy to email the CIC to see where the application was up to and GREAT that you got a response. I went to the loon lounge event and asked the immigratin lawyer if you didnt get an AOR (London dont send them) how areyou meant to know they have your file? And if it is in process and they dont update ecas how areyou meant to just sit around assuming. He said that it is ok to email the office and ask but realise that each time you do that it would be frustrating for the officers...What do you guys think, do you think its worth a shot? I am sooooooooooo frustrated just sat here waiting, i think im going to implode!!!

I emailed them and the next day we got a request for a document... go figure.. either way hadn't heard anything from them at all for 4 months so, it fairness it was nice to hear something!

Does this mean it is in process? Does this mean a decision has been made?? Is this londons equivalent of an AOR?????????????

That very much means it's in process. Whether or not PPR is imminent or not, I cannot tell, but that's certainly the equivalent of an AOR, and the fact they've already marked it as "Medicals received" leads me to believe an IO is currently going through your application.

YAY!!! Our Ecas got update too!!! WOOT WOOT! It says that the medicals have been recieved. I guess this means that it's gonna take a few more months for PPR...

Thank god they updated it though.. I have been tweedling my thumbs waiting for something to happen!!

Just a quick update guys - eCAS updated our status to Application Received and Medicals Received!
I guess London don't update the status to In Progress so now its just the wait for the Passport Request.

Oh wow, congrats everyone! I sure wish we'd hear something from Buffalo.

Did you guys all hear from the eCas tracker, or did you manually go and look, and find out? I want to check the status of mine, but I don't remember my receipt number. I have to wait until I get home to look at my paperwork.

I checked manually Pharoh. I have the Ecas tracker too, but never got an update... And me being the impatient person that I am, I do a random check daily! not sure how much longer we have to wait for the next update though :S

i have noticed though that each piece of communication with CIC is like a hurdle! you get thru one and wait for the next one.. it's insane!!

Application and medicals received! I guess this is our AOR! eCAS tracker didn't notify me though.
The application was received on the 17th of december, and they're just getting to it now, must be busy in london! Or lazy updating the CIC website....

We received ********* application for permanent residence on December 21, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

SO my question is .. my husbands medicals are dated from august 2010 and they said medicals received does it mean he doesnt have to redo them ?

This is awesome! Hey not so awesome that the tracker didn't pick it up for us either... I logged onto eCas manually and saw a similar message...

We received application for permanent residence on December 20, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

I'm also assuming this means that it's more of an AOR than an 'in process'... because it could just mean literally they've received the paperwork but not scrutinized it in any detail yet.

(I’m using the dates that are on the letters or what eCas says).

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

hey guys,

so i'm wondering how long it takes for PPR after the documents have been received at the relevant visa office. would be nice to know when he will get here.

also curious how my spouse can check the status on Ecas as he is currently using my log in info (Client ID, My maiden name and my DOB). we have tried many different combos and no luck.

Any ideas?

Hey Melbell,

They only way I get in to check my information is if I put my sponsors information in. It only works with his Last Name, DOB, and Citizen Country.

Btw guys just found out that the ECAS update today was a MASS one! A lot of people that applied between Aug 2010-Dec 2010 got similar Ecas updates.

I consider us November 2010 ppl lucky because some of the others on this forum have had to wait more than 3-4 months for any kind of news! fingers crossed that more good news to come...

Sounds like your AOR - in process comes next - about a week give or take you will see it on ecas "in process" as of whatever date.....your on your way! Good Luck!
