When we applied, I sent our marriage certificate, our case # from Mississauga, copies of sponsorship approval a print off of E-cas and notified them that we had a pending PR application. Gave them as much info and proof that I would be able to finance all my husbands needs while in Canada including a flight home were he to get denied. I sent a letter from my employer outlining my current wages and benefits, support letter from my parents stating they would step in to cover his finances if I were to become unable. Copies of my RRSP and bank statements. We sent birth certificates of our children and told them that he had no interest in working or going to school while visiting but only to stay home and care for our children while waiting for PR processing to be finalized. Told them we felt we had a strong case, as we've been together for 7 years, have 2 children and sent TONS of evidence of our relationship with our PR app. We requested a 6 month visa, and I said clearly that we're aware of the seriousness of overstaying a VR and that we have no intention to do anything that would jeopardize our PR application. (Hubby had previously overstayed a few VR's i mentioned this as well, and mentioned our ignorance to the rules/laws/regulations of immigration..let them know we have since studied as much as we could so we know not to step over the line...lol)
We applied in March and got the extension this morning....it was pretty fast!
