Hi Missinghim. I've been able to log into eCAS using my client number, and my husband's (the sponsor's) information. I just tried it with my client number and my information, and it didn't work. I got my client number off the Sponsorship acceptance letter CIC sent.

Quakingaspen

I have maybe a silly question: did you get your owen client number? I thought that the letter sent to the sponsor includes the sponsors client number.
I could login with my sponsors client number and her data.
Thanks for enlightening me...

I also got a client no frm my approval letter and i used it with my info (im the sponsor) to check if i was approved (this was last month). It worked.
I am now talking about when ur file is sent to the VO whose info do u use to check on things ..Can u still check w. that client no.

And With the client number, do u use the applicants info or sponsor's info? I heard if u have a file no u can use that. The embassy gives that to u. I gather u must have to use the applicants info because the VO is processing the applicants PR app.

We are in the same boat, don't have the exact dates handy but filled in Dec 2010 and approved for sponsorship early January.

We recently got an update from Buffalo stating:

Your Family Class application for permanent residence in Canada has been received at the Immigration Regional Program Centre (RPC) in Buffalo, New York, USA.

You must provide evidence that you have been lawfully admitted to the USA or Canada for a period of at least one year. Proof of lawful admission is in the form of a stamp in the passport or a status document issued at the Port of Entry or other place of admission. If an extension of the original status has been obtained, the evidence required would be a document or stamp issued by the ministry responsible for immigration matters, providing an extension up to one year or beyond.

All processing of your application has stopped. Please provide copies of the acceptable documents indicated below. If you are unable to provide these documents you must return your application to this office. At that time we will determine if your application will be transferred to the Canadian Visa Office responsible for your country of nationality.

Please provide us with a copy of your Permanent Residence card

Please forward this information by e-mail or fax no later than 5 days from the date of this correspondence. If you choose to submit the information via fax (716-852-2477), please make reference to this e-mail.

A fax and email on the same day with my US PR card was sent

Since then we haven't heard anything and I'm starting to worry (it's only been 3 business days).

Anyone encounter something like this before? Did you hear back any confirmation, or did they continue processing your application? I guess Buffalo doesn't have a number, you could call to see if everything is OK right???

@missinghim
i understand what you want to say.....i have client id and i tried to log in ecas using applicants information still nothing shows up.same still decision made(sponsor).maybe im not sure until we can receive the aor thats the time our ecas shows in process but as you can see lots of ecas did not update on time.Im also confused when is ecas show in process after sponsor is approved?

My understanding is once your spouse receives their client id or file number, and ecas has been
updated, you can log in using their info and you will see the progress. Spouse id numbers will only give you the update on the sponsorship file and nothing else.

My file just arrived in Delhi on Monday, there's no update on ecas yet about it.

Nylalisa- How do you know when your file arrived to Delhi?
It's been 2 weeks since my file transfered to VO and I haven't heard anything from my VO... neither AOR, nor In process...

I made an error on my application, so I needed to correct it so I e-mailed them. They e-mailed me back telling me that it arrived Monday (gave me the file number), and they told me it was still pending review.

I received my Sponsorship approval letter yesterday January 19th. My wife's application is now being forwarded to the Buffalo VO.
When we initially filed we were missing 2 Police Certificates, one of which being the FBI certificate (takes some time to get !).
I now need to send those to Buffalo... When would be the safest time to do that to my sure it will safely be added to our files....

Please add us to the list

Hello All.

Found out today that my partner has been approved as a sponsor. The actual decision was made on the 17th but she recieved an E-cas update today.

It has made her day (and mine as she dosnt have to worry about it anymore!!)

Just waiting for the letter to reach the UK now.

Please add this info to the spreadsheet if you can!

Mark

Congrats MandP and Cindy1! I've added/updated your information on the spreadsheet. That's 9 coming through Buffalo now... and only 8 Sponsorship decisions left for us! :)

What a great system we have.

Best of luck with the request with request missinghim. Your file should have arrived around the 15 or so, as it was sent two days before mine.
