I gave up all hopes to start 2010 fall. ??? i should be there no later than next 2 weeks. and I really don't think that damascus officers will make a move until that date ! Maybe i have to change my university to another one which offers winter entry.
Really tough situation... I know you have the same... the thing that I can't understand is "WHY THEY ARE WASTING SO MUCH TIME" ? If we are eligible for visa then make it fast, and if we aren't then reply fast ! whats the point in pausing the applications' process ?
there are just 2 options, We met the requirements or we do not ! both options can be finalized very soon ,,, I can't still see any logical reason for their delays...

Dear Rezan,
I really wish you have your visa before end of September, but no don't worry there are still many universities in Toronto you can apply for their winter term.See York's university and Ryerson's websites.
I believe the processing time change since early 2010 when one of the MP propose the marriage of convenience and he said "we should investigate about the spouse sponsorship more".It was a complete article about this on Metro newspaper I remember I read it in the late December and there it clearly mentioned that due to this fact the processing time is going to increase significantly.What is surprising me is that why only Damascus increase the processing time while new Delhi or Beijing even decrease their processing times??
Any ways I completely agree with you they have to speed up the process, we are far from our love ones and it is mentally killing us, besides that we all have plan for our future.I really liked my husband to be here before the weather is getting too cold.Toronto is really cold these days comparing to 2 years ago.They simply destroy everyone's plan.

Good news for me!! University of toronto made an exception for me to start from winter session !!!!!!
Although they do not offer winter entry, they gave me an exception because of high scores i gained in med school. They also told me that they can send a letter to embassy regardin my case but my lawyer dont suggest that and think it will affect the case negatively
at least one good news in these 2 recent months !
You are right. Weather is getting cold and they destroyed everyone's plan

Dear all;
Today I received an email from Damascus embassy.They asked for more documents and translation of my Iranian passport.They gave me 45 dates to sent them the documents starting from today 20th September.I don't know if it is a good sign or a bad sign, I'm tired of waiting.Does anyone have any idea why they send me this mail and does it make the processing time longer?I'm really confused.

Take a deep breath. It is defenitely a good news. You must receive this email before getting ur visa. Those who got their visas had received this email. It means u r one step closer to getting ur visa

Thank you for your inspiring words.I also hope this email is a good sign but definitely I am not sure.Going through different threads I saw when they ask for new documents it will postpone the processing time within 2 or 3 months,I'm not sure that I fall to this category or not but I'm still not happy about the news.It has been 7 long months they suppose to finalize each case within 8 months ,but I see that I'm still in the first steps.I am tired of waiting
