Thread for Applications Transferred to Damascus

Hi everyone;

I have applied for my husband on February 2010.My time line is as follows;
Application sent :24 February 2010
App arrived at Mississauga: 1 March 2010
Approval For Sponsorship:24 March 2010
Application Received at Damascus Office:30 March 2010
Start Progressing :30 March 2010
It is almost 5 months since the day I sent my application.When I check my application status it just shows "In Process". I'm tired of waiting.My spouse is in Iran and I'm in Toronto,it is really difficult days for us.I wonder haw many more days should we wait until he gets his visa.I saw few posts for Damascus in this forum,while checking for clues I saw that people applied from India they got their visa really fast, within 2-4 months.Does anyone know what is happening in Damascus office and why are they so slow?

Damacus is 7 months so still well in the timeline.Where ND is 6 it all depends on how much staff an office has,who on vacation,and each office has different ways of doing the process and background checks,but until you get past 7 months there is no worry.

we have been waiting over 2 years for my Husband's visa so your doing just fine.

Hi all,

Today I saw a very disappointing news.The application processing time for Damscus is changed.Now we have to wait more,almost a month more

Hi eli,
any news for you mine is still the same and it is almost the same for all damascus applicants
not much movement, may be they are too busy with visitor visa for the summer
honest I dont know it is very hard to wait for news
ecas still the same no change
please update your status and all damascus appliants as well and this way we can compare and have an estimate what to expect next

Dear Kamal,
I check Ecase everyday.It just shows "In Process".I am so depressed,I am working on my thesis and I cannot go to Iran.When I applied I thought he will be here during this beautiful summer, but unfortunately I was wrong.September and cold weather is just in corner besides that the waiting is killing me.Let's all hope that Damascus office will speed up the processing times.

HI ELI,
i spoke to my lawyer and he is sending an inquiry next week and their response should be within 24 hours and i will let you know but he mention that I should hear from them very soon, september is still ok not too cold comparing to dec, january and tickets will be half price comparing to now just joking i will pay a million for a flight i just want this to finish and be a family again
dont let this stress you and hope to hear from them soon
my blood pressure is killing me and i started having heart palpitations which i dont need
take it easy pray and relax and look for tomorrow for better news
i will keep you in my prayers and all the best , we should here from them soon

Hi dear;

Thank you for your inspiring words. My lawyer also contacted Damascus embassy,what they said , "just wait it is too busy,80% of cases will be finalized in 8 months ". Please let me know if they tell something else.
I hope we hear the good news soon.take care

Hi every body,

I am so happy to see other Damascus applicants here. my husband visa is still in process from March 2010 and waiting is really killing me. He lives in Iran and I live in Toronto. We also had planes for summer but nothing happens.... my university classes will start again in September and we missed the summer...
I have 2 other Iranian friends who have applied for their husbands from Iran, one of them applied in Feb 2010 and got the visa at the end of June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the other one applied in March 2010 and she is still waiting...

The bad thing is I haven't any lower and I fill all the forms by myself... So, I have an extra stress for the forms....

God help us.....

there is a thread by mbastudies and is doing a great job in keeping and updating timelines for applicants from our visa office and many other visa offices. check it out and may be you would like to join our group.
easy way to get there just type in mbastudies in search area and it will bring a topic applications send to damascus in april 2010 join the thread and update your processing time and mbastudies will add you to the group. i have noticed some members updates on other threads that applicants who applied late march or early march and have their passport requested this weekend

Hi everyone,
I am so glad to meet you all hear,when I registered my name in this forum there was a few posts about Damascus, but now I see we are getting bigger and bigger.
Thank you Kamal for the group "mbastudies" that you mentioned,but as Zohre said I belive it belongs to fsw1 category.
Dear Zohre do not worry about the lawyer,to be honest my lawyer did not do anything.He just looked at my forms and thats all.Now I have to call him more that 20 times to be able to talk to him .I wish I had applied by myself it just cost me an extra money
