I just received an email last night requesting my husbands passport i guess people call this PPR? How do we send in the copy of the passport? A bit confused with the mailing options. also, what happens once they receive the passport copy? was wondering of someone can rune through the process

Actually it was weird, we checked ecas at 430pm and it still said application received. but then 2 hours later I got an email requesting the passport copies. Ecas never changed to in process at all

That's great, congrats!! Maybe there's hope for us August-ites yet...I'm getting a bit tired of seeing 'Application Received' on Ecas...

From reading previous posts, it sounds like you can scan your passport and e-mail that doc to them as opposed to having to physically mail it, but perhaps others can confirm this.

I would also like to know this, I am flying out of Australia on the 6th March and may have PPR soon, and will need my passport to fly, hopefully I will be able to send a copy? Have most people who have gone through this step only sent copies?

Hi Guys,

Just got our PPR request tonight. So its almost over!

Unfortunately, they asked for scanned passports, appendix B and ALSO more pictures.
The pictures will slow things down as we have to courier them. The only reason I can think of for more pics is that we are over the 6 month mark (in total) since application was received at CPC-M.

Any advice on couriers from Canada to Sydney and what method was best?

Congratulations for the PPR! I have to supply new sets of pics too with instructions not to cut (4 pics in one sheet).
I sent mine via Canada post priority mail. It took exactly 4 days from the day I sent to the time it was received in Sydney. I paid $79.00, tracking and delivery certificate included.

You will only have to send photo copies that's what they requested. I wish there was a way to just email the copies but they instructed to physically mail it which cost me $90 there an $90 return with ups. Ouch

Its great to hear that people are getting their PPR and COPRs. Guys i just want to request to people who received news from CIC Sydney to update the spreadsheet with your info as well so other users can have an idea/estimate. Rachiy was doing a great job before but now if everyone can just take few seconds and update the spreadsheet, it would be great and helpful to new and existing applicants. Congratulations marcopolocan and c12345! Great to hear that things are moving along at Sydney. Yannie, it sounds like congratulations are in order for you as well. Your dates are not on the Sydney spreadsheet.

Thanks. I just sent off the pics and used the UPS store. The pics and return UPS was about $300 canadian.

Oh BTW guys

you can email the passports as a PDF scan. It will likely take you awhile to zip the file (reduce it) and then send. Also Appendix B can be scanned and then emailed. I also asked the visa officer to send an email verifying that the emails were received and that they were able to open them. Which the VO did (nice of him/her).

If they ask for pics you will need to physically send them by priority post or courier.

I guess one good thing about the pics request is that you can then select a return courier for your COPR to be sent back to you.

We've had my hubby's scanned and ready since we went "in process." They will have that zip file within seconds of us seeing the PPR email.

I just emailed mine.
Colour photocopied the page with my photo and the details then crappily b&w photocopied the rest and sent back to the same email that requested the PPR.
Got my COPR no dramas! Just make sure it is under a few MB so as not to upset the VO.

You're good Bagel.........colour copied the photo page!! Ours were all B&W and I think it was fine.
