bagelbagel81 - what they told us is your PR card will come in the mail in 6-8 weeks. You CAN'T leave the country on your COPR, but if there is an emergency or urgent reason you can apply at the Canadian consulate for a temporary one time pass. They specifically said the COPR is not vailid to get you back in the country. We were already living in Canada and there was no option for a rush on the cards.

B-Nation - the PPR came as a large envelope with the return of some of our original photos and cards. The COPR comes via registered post and it a legal size sheet you can't bend or fold.

Great thanks

I guess i should wait to receive those items before its changes to Decision Made on E-cas?

freezing_aussie and figgy, congrats, these are AOR for stage 2!!!! the exciting time has begun!

Hmmm... interesting!
That makes things slightly trickier. It don't think it will end up being an issue, however I thought I had more options up my sleeve in case I need to land then come back to tie things up in Australia.... No dramas- it will just have to be my partner that does all that if we can't both leave by the landing date! haha... Congrats again!

G'day all
I have recently got Canadian PR via FSW class . We are planning the move now. Just wondering if anyone has shipped personal stuff from oz to canada and if anyone can recommend any companies. Cheers

Hey Ash,

I haven't shipped anything yet, I just got a quote through Wrideways, because they were listed as an older established company. And they quoted me $2900 for 7.5 cubed sea freight - for transport from Sydney to Ottawa. I thought this was pretty standard. I think these days you can request a quote online. (www.wridgeways.com.au)

Let us know how the move goes, it would be great to hear your experiences.
Good- luck!

Hi

I have been looking at the Sydney spreadsheet and it seems that some people who have recevie "Decision Made" got their PPR request and other didnt....

I saw someones comment that the reason they didnt get their PPR is because Australia is visa-waived...but others did get PPR?

Do you think its random?

Thanks

The spreadsheet is looking quite varied in terms of time it takes at Mississauga... freezing_aussie and robhi got lucky with 42/44 days whilst others in July are up there in the 70's...!

35 days now since received. Hopefully it is in the 40's for me too!

thanks, bagel, for posting this as a guide for us. my hubby on his last visit last month brought back a big box of my stuff and paid $70 for that extra luggage piece (this is air freight). and they allow up to 5 pieces per passenger (i think charges vary as how many pieces you bring) so maybe I will just bring a few extra boxes next time i visit him.

The PPR is just a photocopy of the passport, not the actual passport because of the visa-exemption. The SS is only based on the info that we can find in the forum and not everyone is that active, some of the early people who have now landed didn't give much info, the stuff we do have is just what we found on here and put together to help everyone out, so even if there is no date for PPR, they still may have had to send in the copies but just not told anyone.

Ok i think its time i put my information as well out here. Please update the Spreadsheet when possible.

Medical Done : 03/07/12

I just received stage 2 AOR, listing my UCI and Application number. I try to not think about our application constantly, but it's great to receive news that something is actually moving along :)

Congrats freezing-aussie!

I agree, it's hard not to obsess over it when you have so much time to do so!
Hopefully all Sydney applications wont take too long..... May be wishful thinking but I am hoping before Christmas, if not early next year!
