Does anybody know the reasoning a traffic printout is requested for Australians that have lived in Queensland?

I am just trying to figure out why they don't ask for it if you live anywhere else in Australia?

My best guess is that in Queensland and Victoria drunk driving can be recorded as simply a traffic offence whereas in other states it would show up as a criminal offence on the AFP report.

That's only an assumption though, I don't really know for sure.

That would make sense. Are you yourself Australian? My husband is from Sydney but he lived in Queensland for 2 years. Although they haven't asked for the transport printout yet I have read that they will want it even if you have only lived there for a short period of time. I imagine they will ask for that when we receive the AIP. I didn't notice it until after I sent the application in and the Police Record Check.

Wondered about the reasoning behind this too! I only provided my VIC driving history even though I've lived in both VIC & NSW in the last few years.

My husband lived a good chunk of his adult life in Queensland, he's the Australian one.

And yeah, the immigration website says you'll need it if you've lived in Queensland at all since your 18th birthday.

The funny thing is, Queensland being Queensland, my husband actually has a suspension on his license because at one point a police officer who didn't know what to do with his NSW license literally created and suspended a Queensland license in his name because his car was registered in Queensland and she didn't know how to record it when she stopped him. The funny thing was, she stopped him because the car was listed in their computer as unregistered, but he had the registration papers, it was just a computer error. So now we're REALLY hoping that it won't actually matter and they won't care, especially since there's literally no reason listed for the suspension, but who knows.

Well, I guess I will find out soon enough. We submitted inland in March so if they have any questions or concerns about the PR I am sure I will hear about them. I will definitely let you know if you would like me too.

Do any of you know how important blood pressure is on the medical?

My husband had his medical done and the doc said his systolic pressure was "a little higher than normal" so they had him re-do the BP test, and the same thing happened. Now we're going to go back Friday to do it again.

I'm probably panicking, but is there any chance if his blood pressure is a bit higher than normal they'll deny his application?

chipits, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

When I did my medical here in Canada the doctor I went to see was doing immigration medicals daily. He made a comment while testing my eyesight how the results didn't really matter for this class of application (spousal).

Now if something like TB showed up in the results, that might actually be a problem, but I doubt a little blood pressure will result in a denial of your application.

Thanks for the reassurance. I got some more in the general spousal sponsorship thread at the top of the forum that they're definitely not going to deny him based on that, so that's fantastic to know.

Chipits, I was told by the Dr both times I had a medical (had to for WP as well) that they are basically just looking for TB, HIV and STD's. Not sure why they care about STD's so much, but the blood and urine is testing STD and HIV and the x-ray is for chest abnormalities which signal TB.
My Dr hardly even followed the questions, she said that there were specific things they look for and they don't worry about much else. As long as you are healthy overall they sign you off without detailing your entire history.

Congratulations! That is fantastic, good luck with the landing process.

If you get the chance and don't mind, I am sure there are a few of us on here that would appreciate knowing a little about the landing process when you flagpole from within Canada. There are a few of us waiting in Canada that would be interested. That's if your not too busy being a PR of course! lol.
