Dang.. Looks like you'll beat my application quite easily (95 days). :)

Congrats! :)

Did you go through Quebec or is this 100% CIC?

100% CIC. I don't know how it's going this fast, I'm just riding this wave to the finish line!

I have just sent our application package to CPC-M. Months in the making...it's a huge relief as you all know. I wanted to say thank you to everyone for the tips and assistance received thus far.

Some details: I am in Vancouver; my wife in Auckland, NZ. Medicals done in Jan 2014 - what a pain that was - but finally got the correct proof from the clinic and some 'back-up' emails confirming it was complete and submitted. The package should arrive in Ontario by Tuesday, and then...we wait! Our fingers are crossed for a quick turnaround!

Cheers!

To all Aussie and NZ sponsored spouses out there (especially those who've got their PR): what do you think about Canada? How do you like it compared to Australia and NZ? ;D

I've lived in Canada for over 3 years now and adore it. I was always a fish out of water in Aus; I had more friends overseas than there, hated the heat and was always wanting to travel, since I was 6. BC in particular is stunning. So many awesome places to visit, especially if you've never seen snow before arriving here (like me!) I get to experience so many incredible things in Canada because of my boyfriend. Kind of amazing how it all works out in the end.

My ecas updated to 'In process' today and says they started processing it on the 18th Feb! This is great news, my case has no longer been tossed aside and if I'm really lucky only 2 more months to go! I can't believe how quickly Sydney is pumping out applications, I picked a great time to apply apparently. Hahah

Hey benjis, glad to hear your application is moving along as well. Fingers crossed for ya!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but have been reading posts on here for some time. It helped me so much going through the application process as there were so many questions I had and couldn't find them anywhere.

So I applied in November & was emailed last week for appendix B form.

Really excited to be able to get our papers soon & book flights.
I'm lucky that my fiancée has dual citizenship so he is here with me.

Wishing everyone fast processing of applications. Sydney office is powering through them.

In total I think it took 3 months, amazing!! :)

Awesome to hear! I've been trying not to get too excited about the turnaround time but it's hard not to after all the positive reports. I'm just waiting for the package to arrive in Miss. then I'll just keep checking like a kid waiting for Santa!

We thought it would take at least 6 months but fingers crossed yours goes through just as fast. :)
I found my status didn't update very much at all so don't be discouraged if you don't see it change until u get asked to do appendix B.

I hope we all get out permanent residency papers soon :D
5-10 working days feels like a lifetime now lol.

Good luck! Trust me the Canadian side of things is the most painful wait. Once you get SA and it hits Sydney you can start getting excited because it seems like on average they are smashing them out in a matter of weeks!

I've lived in BC on work Visas off and on for the last 8 or 9 years and it is an awesome place. That being said so is Australia! The change of scenery and the close proximity to the US make it a great place to live with great options for cheap travel also. Making good $$ is definitely a lot easier in Australia but then again things are a little more expensive so.... It's basically the best mountains in the world vs the best beaches in the world. Impossible to choose for a Snowboarder/Surfer. I consider myself very lucky to be able to have homes and family in both!

PS. Torvic, my ECA's now says decision made. Like clockwork! Is the COPR an actual physical document for us or is it just an email?

Thanks, Thestylemaster! I've been super excited after reading yours and torvic's posts...before I was getting excited reading a few other timelines, but your two are the closest to mine so it's really encouraging. I did my best in putting the package together - photos, emails, bank info, wedding info, family info, chat logs, phone logs, a summary page, explanations of our history, postcards, greeting cards, receipts, invoices, etc. I must have hurt a small tree - but they want hard copies, so can't avoid that. I look forward to hearing more about your progress also - this forum has been amazingly useful due to all the lovely ambiguities in the whole process! CanadaPost said our package has reached Mississauga - I may be delivered tomorrow - let's see!

I even went as far (just to make myself feel better) - by downloading and looking at the stats from data.gc.ca and trying to understand how busy Family Spousal applications out of Sydney actually is - LOL. Good luck to you all also!

Also - can anyone comment on the passport request - does it HAVE to be sent to Sydney or can it be sent to Ontario?

Dont stress if you dont hear from them right away. They probably wont update you on receiving it until a week or so after they have it, but like I said, the Canadian side is the worst part so be patient for the first month and a bit and before you know it you'll have SA.
