Dont stress if you dont hear from them right away. They probably wont update you on receiving it until a week or so after they have it, but like I said, the Canadian side is the worst part so be patient for the first month and a bit and before you know it you'll have SA.

PS. Torvic, my ECA's now says decision made. Like clockwork! Is the COPR an actual physical document for us or is it just an email?

Very nice. From what I've heard, it's a physical document that they mail within two weeks of Appendix B confirmation. Looking at the spreadsheet for Sydney, recent applicants have received COPR within 20 days. Given how quick we've been thus far, it may be sooner.

Thanks! Of course with my luck I've just spent the last hour and a half messing with my printer because it has decided it no longer wants to scan!>.< Hahaha, I'd really prefer not to have to mail it so I'm going to go scouting for people with a scanner within walking distance hahaha.

Also questions to the general Aussie-ness of this thread. What was everyone's choice on the return of your COPR? I'm not sure how courier works; you go to a courier place, explain the sitch, they give you the details, you give these details to CIC upon returning the Appendix B? I just don't know if I trust regular mail from Aus to Canada with something so important in it. If anyone has any advice or experience that would be very helpful, thanks! Now to go throw my printer off the third storey...

So they say you can return it either electronically or via post? Interesting. In our situation, we will both be here, and don't really want to send it to SYD if we can avoid it...same with the passport!

Yeah it sounds like everyone's case is different, I'm an Aussie citizen and so I'm visa exempt. I got asked only to send copies of my passport if it had changed since I sent in my app... it hasn't even been 3 months so it's still the same. They didn't ask for any more photos or documents and they made no mention of my interview or if it was waived (I'm assuming yes?) I have the option to scan my signed appendix B and email them back or I can mail everything back. Maybe if you get courier you HAVE to send it through the mail because courier may give you a little envelope to send to CIC for COPR?? I'm really not too sure... I wasn't expecting to get to this point so soon lol. I might try scouring the forum for some info but it's hard to sit still at the moment lol.

I was also just wondering to the people who have filled out their appendix B, I know I don't need to fill out the forms for anyone not accompanying(not that I have any dependants) but I just want to make sure I don't have to write my sponsor's details in the spouse section? That would just be if my spouse were accompanying me to Canada right?

And I went and signed up for a Fed Ex account online; I'm under the impression I can just give CIC my Fed Ex account number and they will organize the rest? I should just get a credit card charge through the account when they post it correct? Everything is the account is my own information (the applicant) as well as CC so I'm sure it'll all be fine.... but as I've read it can sort of be up to CIC if they use your courier information hahaha

I'm not too sure about the last paragraph, as I didn't need to send anything physically to CIC, but as for the first para: provided you're the only one who is getting PR, only put your name down. Your sponsor is either already a permanent resident or a citizen, so you don't need to put them down.

So Torvic, did you request COPR via regular mail? Or are you in Aus? That's what the FedEx thing is for, I'm not sure I trust (Or want to wait 5 weeks) for regular post from Aus to Canada haha.

Awesome to hear! I've been trying not to get too excited about the turnaround time but it's hard not to after all the positive reports. I'm just waiting for the package to arrive in Miss. then I'll just keep checking like a kid waiting for Santa!

Congrats! Don't worry too much about timelines, I didn't get my AOR for 3 weeks. Just know when the stated processing times are and as soon as you hit the 33/34th day if you haven't received anything you can start bugging the crap out of people.

I should also note; my PPR/ App B were attached in response to an email I sent about my requested documents and if they had arrived. Not that they need it now but it may have been a little kick in the butt.

Congrats! They really are getting shit done in there!

Being that it's a PDF you can just fill it in on your computer (click the boxes and type) and send it right back to them. It's definitely a confusing set of instructions with that document. See Torvic and my discussion from last week about it all, the courier thing to my knowledge is referring to the return of your passport if you sent it in.

Hi guys,

Completely new to this forum but it seems as though there's a real sense of community and willingness to assist one another! TRUE AUSSIE SPIRIT!

My situation is as follows:

Lived in Vancouver: 2.5years on a Working Holiday Visa - current WHV expires July 2015- can apply for another but want PR to be completed by then.
Situation: Recently engaged to my Canadian partner - lived "common-law" since Sep 2011 but together since January 2010.
Wanting to: Submit my PR Common Law application.. but wanting to do it Outside of Canada, whilst living here in Canada..

I will progressively ask questions of the next little while before submitting but one big question I have is when answering "Country of Residence" - do I input my Australian address? I'm pretty certain this is correct, but just needing some verification.

If anyone can share an experience or highlight anything important that I should know before submitting, I would really appreciate it.

I can't wait to get this process over with and continue life in Canada permanently!
