It's kinda confusing. The email that they sent me says: Ø If you have changed your passport from ________, then submit a photocopy or PDF Scan of ALL pages of your current, valid passport (these copies do not need to be notarized/certified). Each individual must hold their own passport (including children); Diplomatic/Official passports are not acceptable. Otherwise confirm in writing (email) this is still your current passport for travel

But Appendix B says: Return the original to us with your passport/passport copies.

I'm assuming that given Appendix B is a generic form they send to everyone, we should really just have to confirm that the passport is the same one they've seen in the scans I sent them with the application. I imagine you have a very similar email, style?

Yep, I have exactly the same email! So... I think its fair to assume they don't want the copies, but the real Q is: Do they want the passport or just confirmation that the details are still the same?.... Anybody else reading this know what the deal is?

Ok after reading through it all again, it sounds to me like we send in our passport unless the passport has changed, in which case we send copies.. I can't find anything referring to visa waiver countries. They've also asked me for another set of passport photos but I'm not sure if that's because earlier there was a hiccup with my medical results (photo may have been lost.) If this truly is the last step in the process then surely they'll be physically putting a visa document into our passport I would think....

The way I'm reading it is that they only want the passport (or its scans) if anything has changed. In the email, that seems to be pretty clear, but the fact that there have been conflicting instructions the whole way through the process has planted the seed of doubt.

haha I know what you mean, it's like everything they ask may or may not be a trick question. Honestly it can be read either way.. The appendix B form does seem to make a lot of reference to return postage which only makes sense if you're sending a passport.. I think I'm gonna have a flick back through this thread and see what other people did!

Ok, I read back through the forum to about page 83 and from what Blackwoods and Catou were talking about I'm thinking we just confirm the passport details are the same. If you hold an Aussie passport this seems to be the case!

Your application is in the final stage of processing. In order to issue Permanent Residence visas, you are asked to complete and return Appendix ‘B’(attached) and the following instructions as indicated for yourself and each family member included on your application

Ø Send the current, valid, actual passport/s to this office. Ensure that there are sufficient blank pages in all passports. Do not send expired passport/s. Each individual must hold their own passport (including children); Diplomatic/Official passports are not acceptable.

Ø Submit updated identification photographs as per the enclosed specifications[/b]

Yeah, the more I read about it, the more I'm leaning towards replying to confirm that nothing has changed with the passport, and attaching the Appendix B to that email. The instructions on Appendix B threw me off.

Thanks for sharing, hassan. That seems to clear it up for me a bit more. In yours they are VERY specific about sending the passport off, whereas with mine and style's they only say to send scans (not even the hard copy) if something has changed.

Aaaah Thanks S_hassan27! In your email the request for the passport was very clear! Definitely not the same as Torvic and I received, which means we definitely don't have to send it in!

I just scanned and sent the form back, along with confirmation that my passport hasn't changed. Now to sit and wait.

I just filled it in and sent it back too! I also needed to add more photos so they'll be express posted this morning. Do you think sending them a post satchel is only for if they're returning a passport? Or do they want it for when they send the COPR documents also?
