One question here...once you guys sent your passport and photos in....did you get any kind of status change online when they received them or they finished processing them and mailed them back ?

Or did they just arrive in the mail 3-4 weeks later ?

I sent mine from Canada to London on march 4. via registered mail, below is the tracking from canadapost.ca

If you go on the royal mail site and use the same tracking number the details will show up.

Also, nothing changes online. They just come back one day. It's exciting. But the wait is not for the weak at heart.

Ahh, i was able to track it via royal mail, it got delivered on march 11. so they've only had it for a week. I guess i'll "only" wait 2-3 more before i start getting stressed :)

Great News Everyone!!! New York called us and the agent there told us that he read our application and was moved by our story. He sounded really nice and said he is doing everything he can to expedite our application. He sent us an e-mail in which stated the next steps of our application. Which included paying our 'Right of Permanent Residence Fee' at the bank. Once we receive a confirmation of payment from Mississauga we can send it all to NY. Then we will get our PPR.

So excited. Such a relief. Phew! Soon we can live normal lives where we can both work and live together.

Hello everyone!!
I need some help here!!! My husband is sponsoring me and my child and we've applied since November 2009. My application is inland as I am already in Canada. I do not require a visa to re-enter Canada and I'm kind of hoping to make it to my brother's wedding in June. Can anyone help as to what is the waiting time, and ifI gain approval what is the waiting time on the second stage! Can I leave if I receive first stage approval? I really want to be there for my brother's wedding and can't cope with the fact that I may not be able to make it. What are the consequences if I travel to the UK and come back? CAn anyone help answer my questions!!!

I got passport request from Buffalo office by email today!

Hi all,

We just got the approval letter from the office in Seoul today. I'm going to send my passport next Monday and hopefully we'll be back home in time for Stampede.

I was really getting worried when I found out a lot of people who had started being processed later than us at the same office had been getting their letters. So many questions running through my head: did we send enough info/proof, is there a delay because something's wrong, what if (just what if) our application got refused, etc etc etc. It definitely got worse as time went on. BUT hang in there people, don't let the visa/immigration people get to your heads (I know they almost got to mine!), and best of luck to everyone :)

Sent from Seoul to Mississauga mid-Nov, 2009
Sponsorship approved Nov 23 & file sent to Seoul
Started processing in Seoul office Dec 1
PPR received April 2, 2010

Love conquers all :D

New York has had my husbands passport for 15 business days... how much longer are we going to have to wait?!
