YAY Kitty! Congrats! Some momentum! Hopefully everyone starts to hear soon.

Hey Kitty,
That's indeed the best news you could hear from anyone. Congrats!!!
Sulo.

Hi,

My daughter sent her application from South-Africa to the CPC-M on Nov 11th. Unfortunately, she did not send it registered mail so she has no idea if it was received or not. Does anyone know how we could find out. or at least how long should we wait before we start suspecting that the file was never received.

When we called the 1-800 number, they told us that they were not even processing November requests yet so they could not tell us if it was received or not. I see in this forum that once the CPC receives the sponsorship request, the answer seems to come back very quickly (withing 3 weeks or so).

Please help

Note that an application doesn't appear in the system until they've started processing it and judging by the available timelines they should be processing applications received around the 11th today. Therefore, you should add at least the time it would take to send a piece of mail from South Africa to Mississauga to today's date before you despair. No worries. :)

Hello Everybody!

Got a letter today from Mississauga- Sponsorship Approved! So excited! Anyone else hear anything? Ours was received at CPC-M on Nov. 5th and they started processing Nov. 24th. Less than 20 days!

great news kittty! congratulations with 1st stage approval! :)

Hey man, good luck on your process!

No, I'll be staying in China for a while, hopefully things will be done by the time I need to leave. The likelihood of receiving a TRV is very low, so we're not going to bother. It would have been nice to be home for christmas and new years, but so she goes!

Take care, let me know how things are going!

Where are we all applying from?

I (sponsor) am applying from Zhuhai, China, where I live with my wife. I'm originally from Ottawa, then St Catharines, and spent the last 6 years in Costa Rica. If the visa is granted, we will settle in Nanaimo (at leats that is what I plan at this moment).

Canaboy, what's your situation? And will you be applying for a temporary visa to allow you (or yours) to visit Canada while waiting for the residency visa? I just did an application, and ran into some conflicting instructions between the CIC and Beijing websites, and even an inconsistency in the Beijing website itself.

Hi everyone! It's great to see so many of you with the same goal, that is, bringing that special someone over to Canada! It is pretty awesome there, but then I am a LITTLE biased... LOL

Keep up the progress reports!

Take care, good luck, and stay safe

Hi everyone! I sent my application (in-canada sponsorship) Nov. 23rd. Any ideas as to when I can access it on e-cas? I don't having a tracking number since I sent it through regular mail so I'm just patiently waiting to see it online..I just use the number on my receipt correct? Under the bar code?

Yep that's right, the receipt number :)
I don't know how long it will take for you but we sent our application November 9th and we've still not heard a peep from them so... it could be a while depending on where you sent it and also factoring in that the holidays are coming up.

Thanks everyone! I know you will all hear something back soon, fingers crossed and good vibes headed in your direction!

@Swede we are applying through London

Hasn't anyone received any updates this week?

just checked online with my receipt number
the decision was made on nov.27, but the mailing address was mistyped by cpc, therefore the mail was never received by us. any clues, folks?

congratulations with 1st stage approval! have you tried to contact cic by phone related to this? this letter still has a chance to come - just a few days and week-end passed.

i would definitely call cpc-m!! to at least correct the address, and they will be able to tell you over the phone whether or not you have been approved! :)

Finally some news!!!!

I checked ecas today and appear that they made a decision on nov 23th and sent the letter, 9 days has passed and still nothing on my mail!!!! is this normal? who can I speak if it's that got lost in the mail??

Also the ecas says that my file was sent to Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC) (I'm in Montreal). May be this a sign that my application was approved? if not, why would they send my file to the Quebec goverment...

Hope to get a classic brown envelope today, finger crossed! (I'm also calling CPC-M but still no luck)

Congrats to all people who already got their letters!!!!
