Thread for Applications Sent July 2010!!!

My wife received her PPR today (with requests for original Birth Cert, and Marriage Cert) to supply within 90 days,.

The handwritten date is Sept 9th(!!!) for the requests - by my calculation- the 90th day is Dec 6th.

My questions:

1. We are arriving back on our honeymoon on Dec 5th! I'm not sure "within 90 days" included Dec 6th or not - is there a way to be sure?

2. Is there any benefit of sending the Birth and Marriage Cert before hand, and then the passport on Dec 6th? Or should we wait until we can send all things?

3. The Birth and Marriage Cert are in spanish. It doesnt say - but do we need a notarized translation? I know we sent an original Birth cert in the original app.. weird....

4. Can she go to the embassy to clarify things, or is by fax the only means?

5. More general: How are the applications actually processed- all things being equal - will every day we wait to send in the requested material delay it an extra day? Or will they do a sweep at like 30,60,90 days to see if the requested material is in, or just at 90 days?

6. If for some reason we are late by a day, what does "delay" mean? Bottom of the pile/start all over??

It really sucks that we cant actually send the passport in if in reality it is delaying our application!!!

Still havent heard anything from bogota, sucks!!! I heard they are the slowest, but damn they have had everything for almost 2 months and have not even acknowledged they received it.

Should i call? or just wait? My spouse hasnt heard anything yet either, no mail, no email, no phone calls, nothing.

my spouse's ecas also updated as:
"

If it was me I would be delivering it in person prior to taking a trip, or changing my plans quickly

Unfortunately, the Guate office seems to hold the passports for months and months as per others on this board - thus the chance of getting approved is about 0 before our honeymoon (i'm sure that handing it in, and "borrowing" it is not an option! lol)

Anyone know exactly what "delay' means (ie. bottom of the pile)?

I emailed Buffalo asking about the address for my husband being the CPC in Mississauga -they replied today.

E-Client Application Status (e-CAS) does not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.

and asked to confirm what address they are meant to be using.

hey all! I haven't been around in awhile, but to update, our application was received July 30th and our sponsorship was approved Sept. 20th, with the delay caused by me not signing one of the sheets. D'oh. Anyway we are back on track, awaiting my AOR.

I need to find something to do. Seriously, I think I have refreshed this site, at least 100 times today.
I think I've checked my email page and 'inbox' at least the same # of times, if not more.
I'm going mad - doesn't help I was ill this morning, so I'm taking it easy this afternoon.

Aww can_usa_97, I can totally relate. Doesn't help that I still have 6 months ahead of me and that I am in Canada without a job and such.
Just got to keep ourselves busy somehow don't we?
Now if anybody could throw out some suggestions on how to keep myself busy in some way other than always refreshing this site then I would love to hear you out. Lol.

Onto other news the FBI clearance I mailed off to Vegreville finally got there today. Now just hoping they can match it up to my file. *crossing fingers*
Hoping my next update will be to say that I can finally sign into ECAS.

Very understandable. I can't blame you. I think all of this want this over with as soon as possible and begin living a happy, peaceful life already. Or at least I know I do. I will be praying that you get a PPR request soon.
