Thread for Applications Sent July 2010!!!

Hey Minna, I had forgotten to sign one of the forms (I felt like such an idiot) and they shipped the whole application back before they even approved our sponsorship (this was in early September). We got one of those 'send this info within 90 days' letters. I turned it around ASAP and within...

hey all! I haven't been around in awhile, but to update, our application was received July 30th and our sponsorship was approved Sept. 20th, with the delay caused by me not signing one of the sheets. D'oh. Anyway we are back on track, awaiting my AOR.

My husband and I live about fours apart, he in Canada and me in the States. One of us travels nearly every weekend and things have been fine so far (knock on wood). We've been doing this for nearly three years now (as husband and wife since February). But yes, bring proof and always be...

I forgot to sign the section B of the additional family information page (where I swear that I don't have any children natural or adopted) so they sent the application back. But at least they opened it and we have a client id and such. Back in the mail today!

The other side of US/CAN relationships, Anyone else care to share?

It really is amazing how many people think that you are 'automatically' legal in Canada once you get married. I am going down to part time at my job so i can spend more time with my husband. We are fortunate to live within driving distance of each other. I will be working through the end of...

Hey Love_Young Starting next Wednesday I go on a two week vacation in British Columbia at my husbands family's camp in the Rocky Mountains. I can't wait. The 28th there is a big party where we will be celebrating our (already six month old) marriage with his extended family. And the 29th I...

    Application to Extend Visa (I)

I think your fine except the part about not intending to leave Canada. You can (at their discretion) stay in Canada while the application is processing and apply to extend your status if you need to. Say that you will leave if asked or if your status isn't extended. Your return ticket is a...

sponsor family not at wedding does it affect the PR

fenna1, Those of us who have already sent in our applications have to stop worrying at some point. I sent in much less proof than some folks, but our lawyer had looked it all over and said it looked good. I did not include any letters from family, just some photos of us together in various...

sponsor family not at wedding does it affect the PR

I don't think that is a make or break thing for PR applications. My family does not have passports and my husbands family lives on the opposite coast from us. We had a courthouse wedding with two witnesses one of which is my husbands twin sister. No one from my family was present. Our lawyer...

Thread for Applications Sent July 2010!!!

So it's stupid question time. I did a little searching on the forum but my search was too vague, I think. We tracked the package and it was delivered July 30th. Do they send any kind of confirmation that they have received the application? Because we haven't heard anything. Or do you only...
