Hi again folks,
I have a question. I am leaving for India tomorrow to bring my wife here in Canada. I just renewed my Indian passport but I have my PR card issued 4 yrs ago. Should I carry my old passport with me? Do you think we have to change anything on PR card when we renew PP? I am just worried if I'll be in trouble at Indian airport on my way back?
Please help me if someone has any experience in this regard,
Best regards and good luck for everyone,
Vish

@ vish....

i would suggest that u should take it with you....if they ask...present it...otherwise u can keep it in ur pocket :)

[b]Update for Sponsors buying eticket online with his/her CC for applicant to travel.

Most airlines require this from you, this is just a FYI to avoid a big headache in the IND airport.
This is a must for JET Airways, so please check

Security Requirement
. The card used to purchase the tickets will have to be produced at the time of Check-in.
. If the holder of the card is not the passenger, then the passenger should posses:
a. A photocopy of both sides of the card, which will have to be self attested by the card holder authorising the use
of the card for the purchase of the ticket. For security reasons, please strike out the Card Verification Value (CVV) code on
the copy of your card.
b. This photocopy should also contain the name of the passenger, the date of journey and the sector on which the journey is made.
The above document MUST be produced at the time of check-in. If the passenger fails to comply with these conditions, Jet Airways
reserves the right to deny the passenger(s) from boarding.
The details mentioned above do not apply for Net Banking/ Cash Card.

@ fprince

just an fyi, u do not need the card member to be travelled on the same itinerary. also, u do not need the photocopy of the cardholder. i called Jet and even confirmed this from the travel agenet...and they confirmed too that this is not the case...

taking an example: a person can buy a ticket for someone, and pay....therefore the person who is travelling does not need to show the copy of the card....

Thanks gagan,
I appreciate it. I am sooooooo ready to go.....Good luck everyone,
Cheers

It would be a good idea, we'd have to plan, I know there has been members on this forums / thread who've had the said parties.. but I never heard anyone say it after they've had the party.. so not sure... but if we do have one you'll be invited... just finish the paper work and file!!!

Also I think it would be a good idea to take a screenshot of the skype video chat and send it to CHC-M show them we talk on skype too1!!!

Hey sorry abt the late reply, just couldnt seem to find a way to reply back to this particular post. Got it finally! :D

Btw, you can call me shamsia cos that is my name ;D And I totally love the idea of that party where we can rant and rave, though we still need to file our papers before we qualify for the ranting and raving session :)

Congratus... you've qualified for the VISA... you will get your passport in less than 2 weeks :)

can any body please help with my situation

heres my timeline from cic website

We received your wifes application for permanent residence on January 17, 2011.

We started processing your wifes application on June 6, 2011. (I dont remember seeing this particullar date before I think it was a different date before but I'm not sure)

her interview was on March 21, 2011. (they already had her passport and asked for additional papers (phone bills) which she gave and about 10 photos of when we went sight seeing.

HERES the new part thhat just came up in this week.

A decision has been made on your wifes application. The office will contact my wife concerning this decision.

thank you to anyone that responds to my concerns and good luck to you all.

FebPR, when is she landing. She should get the PP back within 1-2 weeks.
Again forgot which city your wife is from..book early my friend.

Congrats... this could be very positive, and finally it will end your worries... there is no guarantee as to when you will be approved... but from what I ahve seen it could be 2 weeks 2 days or not sure. but good luck
