Fprince, I think you are right. Marriage certificate is the real deal. Spouse's name on the passport is added on the basis of Marriage certificate.

I have submitted my marriage certificate, but still no response from New Delhi after submitting PP 3 weeks ago. I should not think more in to it. It all depends on the visa officer. Hopefully in June they will issue more visas. Last long weekend they had issued a lot of visas, but this time it is very dull.

I hope you get your Decision Made status this week.

It does show the officer something but i don't think that could be considered a main reason. I have seen so many ppl get their visa within 2 months in CHC ND who did not do the change.
It is more of the documentation, pictures, phone bills....more of how we paint the picture and above all depends on which IO is dealing with the file.
And if you notice CHC ND trend..in jan/feb they were issuing visa's faster and now its a bit delayed, this could be cos of the tons of students visa's they have to deal with...
The processing time should be very fast come June/July as visitor/student visa's would become very very less..

I don't see why a IO would consider a marriage genuine if the name is added to the passport and is not convinced when we have already submitted the marriage certificate...both are govt issued documents and should have the same weightage..and to add a name to the passport you do need the origional marriage certificate, hence the MC is the real deal ;D

But adding does not hurt, depends on your time frames..not a must but optional.

I don't think there will be a interview for you now. They have opened your file after the passport has been received and you should be getting the good news soon. May be in the coming weekend the status will change to Decision Made. All the best. You are very close.

does this mean interview is waived...i noticed usually if there is an interview at this point of time it would have been posted , and stayed application reveived...

i hope this means 2 more weeks for decesion made

Hi All,

My husband in Canada received a letter which says that my processing was started on 1st May and the delay is because of the reason that they received the landing fees late.

There are so many things to wonder
- As per ECAS my processing started on 18th April and as per the letter they started processing on 1st May.
- 1st May was Sunday.
- My husband paid the landing fees online on 4th April and sent a copy of the receipt to CIC.It took so long for them to receive the fees. I had also sent a copy of receipt with the passport.

Atleast we received some communication from them.

Don't worry ...medicals line has been disappearing for a lot of applicants and only comes back when they change the status to "decision made"..mine disappeared in Feb.

They could verify the PCC from Netherlands but everything should be fine.

This delay in this office is very common as they hold on to passports for months and leave the applicants clueless.

I could see that we filed our app at almost the same time.. my file was rcvd in ND on 18 may'11 .. but ecas says we received null my name application for PR on 18 may.. I am worried about the word null... do u have any clue what it means???
I would appreciate ur reply..
