Thanks Waiting4u, what does your ECAS is now ?

Panda,

Not to sound intrusive. Has your wife travelled abroad a lot or been working ? Just curious...Sorry really anxious about my processing and how much more it will take ...I have no idea why they keeping mine for so long.. Mine is a high paying job..Actually we travelled to US, South East Asia etc...Do they background check each and every country ?

No, my wife did not had any travel anywhere whats o ever, she did her last name change already after marriage. She just completed her studies so no job at all.

Yes they do check background for every country a spouse has visited, rest it all depends on the visa officer.

Panda

Can I ask you what excatly they asked you in verification call?

Panda and myself have the similar timeline.
Yes, it took exact 2 weeks for the Visa stamp.

so far so good starting week. we got 4 Visas yesterday. i 'm really hoping more good news on this forum.

once again thanks everyone! appreciated to this thread's ppl from the experience i had. i'm really busy to flying back and spend my spring vocation in nice weather to India.

They asked about five questions
Spouse Name and Date of Birth
Wedding Date
First time we met
Family History ( siblings and living city in Canada)
Spouse's arrival and departure date

No need to afraid as long as the relationship is genuine they can not manipulate the case.

hi canuckWaiting ,
In my case I had travelled a lot abroad and also had an another country visa on my passport. When I submitted my application the first time,I had submitted a copy of my passport that I had taken when I was abroad. It was a very small mistake from my part that I didn't submit the passport copy after I was in Canada.Somehow they concluded that I was not living in Canada and rejected the application.

So your app was rejected during the sponsor stage or the spouse processing stage ?

Panda just curious...Since your app processed so soon, Do you think it is because your are a Citizen ? Do PR sponsor apps goes slower than the Citizen apps ?
There must be some reason why certain files just sit at their desks.... I mean i would think if the relationship is genuine, the sponsor has a job etc, the PR should go soon right ? I'm starting to see paterns where Citizen sponsorship goes sooner than normal PR sponsor

I think personally it is more to do with Panda's individual circumstances surrounding his relationship with his wife (no red flags as VOs would say it) . I am a Canadian citizen born and raised here and my husband is being interviewed at the end of the month. So its not a PRvs Citizen thing at all.

Panda, Mine is still In Process with medical received line still missing. So hoping that it changes to complete soon. With so many people getting visas hopes are swelling that this will be my week lol
