MAJOR PROBLEM WITH TRANSLATION - PLEASE HELP!!! :-\ :-\ :o :o :o :o :o :o

Is anyone else applying without birth certificate? I have 3 certificates of "NO BIRTH RECORD FOUND" in Hindi from the local hospital that I need to submit to NDVO. I went to 2 senior lawyers today in India to have them translate my "Certificate of No Birth Records" into English and they refused and did not want to sign the affidavit and take responsibility for the translation. We need to have them sign an affidavit stating that the translation is true and correct. Who else can we go to for this? Will translation by a local college professor be acceptable? Or does it have to be done by a lawyer or translation company? Another problem is that the translation companies here in Delhi are not certified!!! Please help I need suggestions because I need to send this document with PPR!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Thanks and good luck! :)

Hi!
I was told by my lawyer incase I had any docs to be translated. I could get it testified by a govt school/college principal. Also to attach her/his college/school official Id along with it.
I never needed to get anything translated.

You must check with your lawyer or anyone on the forum who got translations done..

ok thanks indian_spouse and mapledreams for your help! one problem is that i have heard that college professor of principal would not give you a copy of their identification...same problem as they lawyers who dont want to take responsibility...any other suggestions for who to go to for this? ??? ??? :-\ :-\ :'( :'( i hope i can find another lawyer eventually who will translate and sign the affidavit....all this is soooo expensive and wastes your time and life with your spouse and causes sooo much tension, feeling very depressed now :(

if anyone has had experience with translation in India, PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks again and good luck to all! :)

thank you...i am so relieved...tell you honestly now i feel stupid we were so worked up...

have zero expectations...be cool...and don't forget yourself in this whole process...

love to all

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! Wohhhoooo!!! That's great news :) we got our visas around the same time!

Those CAIPS notes must have beeb confusing for you and thrown you off. Good thing you got your approval right after! After 8 months, you guys needed it!

I really think that a case is processed depending of the visa officer you get. I thought my case would take time, since I'm in the US- but it only took 3 months After reaching Delhi. So the complexity of the case is also depended on which visa officer is handling your case.

Anyway- I'm still waiting for my passport with the visa, to arrive at my grandma's house in Delhi. Can you let me know when your husband gets his?

Congrats Vir_ajay!!!

Guys, in the IM0008 forms, my spouse used the new smart card as for her national identity document, there is an issue date but there is no expiry date written as it is valid for life time. How should she fill that part on the form?

Thanks
