It is soooo easy to turn the table of marriage related issues to immigration issues.

Never trust the reports from Canadian agencies. Their investigation skills are soo poor, may be that explains the rejection rate !

You havent gotten your sponsorship approval yet, have you?

Not yet my dear. We sent the completed application Dec 2011. Our lawyer organized it and sent it to them. Even though I have been writing in this forum since Sept 2011 8)

Thanks!!
When are you leaving to visit your family? any tickets booked yet?

...Anyway, im typing from my iPhone, If I was on the computer, I would have typed out a huge essay on this!...

I like it..
I write a lot too.

Do you know last year in Calgary city which is the home town of Jason Kenny had a public counsel meeting in town halls regarding "marriage frauds"???

I cannot get that article.

Why I am posting this is because now you have been through it. You know how painful it is.
Maybe our 2 cents for future people is our participation in any future town hall meetings (if it happens)
w.r.t to "Spouse Visa"

Because Jason Kenny is a "Sensationalist Politician"
and "marriage fraud" aka "immigration fraud" is "hot topic" here like Ram Janmabhoomi for politicians in india.

The Canadians want the government to take action and protect then from marriage frauds.
And what will the government do?

Bring two years probation the new bride / groom.
If the marriage is failed she has to go back.

Imagine that!

Do you think it is ok?
Imagine the consequences of "under the mercy"

I have discussed this two months ago in this forum
do not want to repeat it.

sivathegreat,

You have done good job in more or less summarizing the reasons why indians go back home to find a better half. It's hard for some people around here to understand and they think people do that because they are forced to do so by their parents. lol.

I have seen few videos of that town hall meeting you are talking, there was a big documentary on that too on CBC. I think none of us would like to be in their situation so I can understand the reasons why CIC is finally thinking of changing some rules. I am in full support as long as they use their brain and not their a** in coming up with new rules.

Hey Karish, ask your lawyer and let me know because everyone, including if you search for it online, says that mailing a passport to India is illegal, and there have been Many situations where the customs catch that and it's stuck at the border. My lawyer told me that she does not suggest me to mail my passport to India.

I was thinking about your case and mine yesterday, your husband obviously put down his Atlanta address in the forms yet? Did he ever receive a letter in the mail FROM the ND office? I'm wondering if they are trying
to send you the PPR letter but can't because it's to an over seas address?? Ever thought about that? Do you know if they can and are willing to send letters like that to applicants over seas?

The best easy option for you would be to send it through someone who you know along with authorizing letter to india. And let them courier your passport from there to CHC-ND. Keep in mind that you are taking a big risk here as well, in case (god forbid) ND wants to see you in person for an interview.
You could hope that they ask for PPR at the end of your process so you could just fly and come back within few weeks. Unfortunately, ND is always coming up with new ways to torturing newly weds. >:( and they like to ask for PP right away without even reviewing your application.

Also JP,
I am same as you.
I went, I married and I came back. 15 Days.

Not for immigration bull*censored word*, but my wife sent me by courier something we call in south "podi" (it is a powder made of dal) and also thier custom of "pant, shirt" for pongal (Sankranthi)

Yesterday I went to walmart, and by chance I saw they put up my wife av chocalat on sale. I just grabbed the box behind the display 30 (gross wt 6 kgs) pieces in one single company big box and packed it and sent through Air Parcel. $204.

Exchange gifts, and keep proof.

There might be surely a question in the interview (if you get one)

.."Has your husband sent anything from abroad..???""
..."Have you sent anything from here..???..."

These CIC people are like incapable or "not-bold-enough-to-decide" school teachers.
You tell them "teacher..teacher..I have stomach pain and I want to go home.."
they wont let you go easily. Ask 1000 questions, and see 1000 things..
And stil some times say "go back and sit in the bench.."
or say "go and appeal to the school doctor..he will decide.."

Because the teacher has doubt that you are faking it.

Some children just run through the gate and they are disciplined harshly
some children (old) "setup" false parents, uncles to come and take them (happens in college)

I will tell you. I would not have sent those choclates if she did not send the stuff from India
It is not that I dont lover her. But because I am lazy, tied up, and saving money for tickets.

But then she sent me stuff..right..
I am sure sending some thing from either the husband or wife makes 1000 times happines.

PS: From the post office I called her to give her complete postal address.
She asked me "...are you sending chocolates bangaram?...I said "no no no.." I am filling up a credit card form in the "mall.." they are asking for my Indian Address.."

want to surprise her, hope the IPS does not "eat it"
Thanx Siva
I got ur point n thanks for d reply
anyways, have u got ur PPR yet or still waiting?

Hi Guys,

Got a DM on January 16th still we haven't received the passport. Wife lives in Pune, not so rural ;-) i guess for the passport to take so much time.

We were thinking whether New Delhi have sent out the passport. We plan to call them to inquire. Is it recommended ?

Does anyone know what number to call to ?

Thanks,
RF

Still nothing?????????//

@canadianswife:

Dont worry yet about the passport. Since you have lived all your life in the USA, who knows, they might just transfer your VO to Buffalo instead of ND. Just a possibility, no guarantee of it happening though. So let's wait and watch :)

Hello all people in pain separated from thier spouse,

They needed a tea coaster in my VO (which is New Delhi)
So they have asked my wife's Passport.
Today 20-Jan-2012.

She received an email.

PPR came in 51 Days from Approval.

I wish good luck to all people.
(Tea coaster only applies to me..)

Can volunteers please update the spreadsheet?.
I appreciate and thank your community service

Thanks
Siva

Also,
UCI has been created for wife
and I logged in with my wife details.

Wow! it is working for her.

"Application Received.."

click inside and I find the same dialogue
"Your application has been received on 29-Sep-2011. Medicals have been received"

Now friends (if you consider me friendly)
I note that this letter is from my VO in New Delhi.
The application received date in CPC-M communication and VO communication is the same. (29-Sep-2011)

Which my hunch is that there is some "electronic" transmission of application is going one.
Maybe they are now synchronized and working in "Real time" systems.
Maybe the new GCMS.

Good to know that CIC may be improving "technology"
