Hi Guys,

Got a DM on January 16th still we haven't received the passport. Wife lives in Pune, not so rural ;-) i guess for the passport to take so much time.

We were thinking whether New Delhi have sent out the passport. We plan to call them to inquire. Is it recommended ?

Does anyone know what number to call to ?

Thanks,
RF

Hello Tennis Super Star,
Calling them may comfort you that "you have taken action"
But will not help you in getting the passport.
Because they will work there style only.

And they know how to ignore and what to ignore.

Lord Krishna forgot tell about "Google yug" after "Kali Yug"

Telephone/ Facsimile Numbers: Mission Tel.: (91-11) 4178-2000

Thanks Google (but I will never pay you, you will always remain free)

Thanks Huzoor,
My wife in her excitement called me from Vijayawada at 4:30 a.m MST.
And in the morning just now I called her and she said "see mail...see mail.."
In a crying tone..

Already I am frustrated and Irritated..She was building up tension in me.
"..please tell me what happened?..please tell me..??"

Her tone was like "crying"

My heartbeat raising, angry,

Then I see the PPR email she forwarded me..
Poor girl, Sorry I could not bare it so my tone was harsh!
I am going insane by this process and not moved by "surprises"

Eventhough I accept there are less fortunate souls than me waiting for longer time
But still I am always of the opinion "This is not the best a developed country can do"

That's weird your lawyer sent it to buffalo. I'm surprised he didn't know any better. It says it clearly you need to apply to the visa office within your jurisdiction of permanent residency, in this case India not US as work permit is temporary residence. Sucks your lawyer wasted your time and adding extra few Weeks to your application.

@Canadianwife. How long you lived in US? What is your legal status there? I'm little confused why you had to send it to India.

Don't quote me on it (i can't locate that document on cic website where I read this) but each visa office will only send communication/correspondence within their own jurisdiction ie ND will never mail out your passport outside of India and you should never mail your passport outside of the country, you can get charged for a potential fraud.

I can understand your frustration. But, trust me, once you are done with the process, all these months of waiting and anger just vanish and all you can think of is meeting your spouse and starting your life together :) :)

If it's any consolation, the timeline of Pakistan is 26 months. That's way over 2 years. Imagine not hearing anything from the embassy for one whole year! My heart really goes out to them, they are after all our neighbours...

ND replied today to my CSE made on Jan 5th:

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

Your application for a permanent resident visa was approved. The passport(s) and related documents were sent to you by registered mail on 13 JAN 2012.

It generally takes eight to ten days for registered mail to reach its destination. You should be receiving your documents shortly.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Shamsia,
Thanks for the consolation. Yes I have posted support messages in Pakistani forum
If I get an opportunity in Canada to participate in any IRPA meetings I will surely support reduction of time for Pakistan.

I am really sad for them.

However please note the country is what the people are. Every citizen is contributing directly to the country's shape. Only thing we dont realize that we are shaping. We dont realize that even our simple action of "Shaving in the morning" shapes our country (ask me how).

It is time Pakistanis raise to the occasion and say "enough is enough" and actively play a role in shaping the country and kick out the bad apple politicians and policy makers. If the people do not raise then not only immigration but health, sanitation, education growth and access will suffer.

Like Egypt, Libya...people have raised to the occasion...find out the real villain and kick them out..
My good wishes to people from pakistan that let the god they believe give them strength, courage and resources and wisdom to fight "oppression".

I always talk about this with my room mates (my room mates are from Algeria, Iran, Pakistan)
My 2 cents to motivate them. Small drops make big ocean (some day it will make)

As I told in my previous post I am really fortunate that may case is proceeding well so far.
I sincerely wish good luck for every one ...I believe in "positive vibrations"..

Kuku Bhai,
I think that is why they asked our PP quicly
so that we cannot pester them for TRV...

BUt my hands are itching..

@roger.federer:

Please read the response I got from ND. They say 8-10 days for registered mail to arrive. Your passport is on it's way and will reach you soon! Just hang in there.

All the best :)

Hey People (and New Delhi..!!)
My wife is making the same fun of me...
"So..so..so...are you going to harrass me again in filling up the TRV forms..???."

I now have full confidence that our Es-Tea-Med New Delhi office will process within 6 months.
I started liking them. So no more TRV.

But when this is over since I have been through this process any future debate, activism on Immigration Process I will be the first to participate (It happens in Town Hall Meetings by Minister)

I am sure you would beleive me that I will go there...
(and create so much fun for every body)
