Hi Yug,

I think there is nothing to worry. You should hear something good in next few days. Its a good sign that you received a reply. Even I got a similar mail on Oct 6th and I got Decision made on Oct 22nd. Meanwhile, you should try to get an answer from your MP as well. One more thing that your spouse can do is to visit his/her local Citizenship and Immigration Office. When we received a reply from our MP, we got this additional following information from his mail

Future inquiries on your immigration case can be made using the following means:
...Calgary Citizenship and Immigration Office: You may place a written inquiry with CIC Calgary at their front desk during the hours of 9 – 3 p.m. They are located at: Room 210, Harry Hays Building, 220 – 4th Avenue S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2G 4X3

Following is the mail that I received on Oct 6th :

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Your application is pending final review. Once an officer has made the final decision in your case, you will be notified.

Delays in the processing of visa applications are always disappointing to all concerned, but rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient and expeditious processing of all visa applications.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Hi there, nope, the 6 months start after the file is transferred to New Delhi. The sponsorship approval time taken at Mississauga is different altogether.

Processing times for spouse applications are calculated from the date on which the application is accepted by Case Processing Centre - Mississauga.

This is nice, previously the MPs would ask the applicants to get back to them after their 6 months are up...nice to see this though :)

Hi Yug,

All we can do is to try all possibilties to get an update. MP can provide exact detail about your case. If your MP is not replying back then call his other office and explain them the situation. Ask your spouse to go and meet the MP in person. Keep sending him reminder every week until you get an update. They are obliged to give you an answer and they will definitely give you an answer. Also, try to visit CIC local office, it might help. As per our MP's reply, he got an update from Minister of Citizenship and Immigration's office and not CHC New Delhi directly.

I know it very hard. But please do not give up. All this is temporary. Eventually you will get your visa.

Best Wishes!
