Hey everyone who is almost at their deadline, hang tight as you are almost
At the finish line! I'm sure it has been a long stressful 6 months, but patience
Is a virtue. You are almost done, eventually you all will get it!

Anyway, is 6 months the strict time? Has anyone on jere
Or anyone that you know has gotten everything done in at least
3-4 months? If so, I wonder what they did for their application
To process through so quickly.

Anyway- I got married in July and I'm
Still all the way in beginning of the entire process :(

Yes it is very tough time.
there are so many cases i know who just got visa in 3-4 months
its all depends upon the simplicity of your case

have not applied yet ??

Has anyone done this? changed the surname on the PR CARD to reflect the "after marriage" surname?

1. Change the IND passport to reflect new surname
2. Change PR Card....( need input here )

ND will send you a PPR within 4-8 weeks which is normal. This is your confirmation.

It is a complicated question as my wife has her old PP/PR card in her maiden name.
She will get a new PP in a few months with my surname.
So whenever she travels she will have 2 PP and a PR card.

Wondering if i have to change the name on the PR Card as her old PP does have her maiden name.
But if she applies for a US Visa the surname on the PR Card wont match the new PP...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yes !

My spouse has changed her PR card with my surname. She had submitted original marriage certificate for the same and she got her new PR card within 30 working days (Jan 2011) !

In regard of Indian Passport she will be changing once I reach Canada. She will change her residential address and surname in one go and for this we have to submit marriage certificate for surname change and for address Ration Card or Joint Bank account is enough!

Hope this helps U :-)
