I've read a few post where Indian immigration has hassled spouses departing India, demanding a police clearance certificate. Has anyone had any personal experience or can anyone comment on this? (My wife is flying out from Hyderabad)
Thanks.
Congrates and wish both of you a prosperous future at Canada.

Carry all the requisite documents i.e Police clearance certificate & All correspondence from CIC/CHC, we cant predict whats going on with emmigration officer at India or Canada.

Prevention is better than cure, so I suggest carry all the requisite documents.

Warm Regards

Can anyone put light on Bring Forward Date? What exactly is that? Can the file be opened before BFD?

Is BFD applicable for specific scenarios like background check or its applicable for all?

New Delhi asked for my old PP with travel history and it was delivered on 20th June 2011 and the BFD(deadline to submit it) mentioned on the letter was 7th August 2011. My new pp was alredy delivered on 20th May 2011.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

As far i see it,
The deadline to submit a document and a BFD can not be the same, this i say from a common sense point of view.
I do not think applicants would have access to the BFD ( not sure if CAIPS would show it, i think it does )

Hello Coolguy !

There is nothing to worry in this regards buddy, BFD: Bring Forward Date. -these r the dates when VO reviews your file.

Each time he/she checks & needs something else, he/she gives another BFD. Thus, BFD to BFD our file moves in the immigration timeline. BFD is also called as deadline set for verification.

So wait positively and on 7th Aug 2011 or before that your file will be verified completely and decision will be made.

Our ears are burned out listening WAIT ! WAIT ! WAIT.., but what else can we do? U see, our cases at CHC get generally delayed 'coz of these things. Trust god and hope the best.

GOODLUCK!!

thx a ton!!

Gagan,Nylalisa, Brin - funny, i login to ecas now with the client ID and i do not even see the sponsorship/PR application..all it shows is my citizenship application.
If i login with her File # - no data...

ecas looks messed up.

Yes that is how ours is as well. It's like we never applied.

nothing is happening no PPR yet :( :( :( :( :( :(

ECAS is useless. Don´t rely on it

ECAS should not be an issue as since they are implementing Global Case Management System all ecas are shuttling, so guys just wait for some more days to get the actual position of our status this is what happening with the ecas, hope it will take some more time for complete updation :-)

Initially you can check the status through your spouse Client ID number and with her details.

Now, once you receive passport request letter (PPR) from ND you will be able to log in to E-cas with your own details. But you will see exactly the same status as you see under "permanent residence application" of your spouse's account.

Kind note you can check your ecas status through your spouse Client ID number, UCI, Financial receipts (IMM 5401), Immigration file number or application number..etc
