Hey guys...finally got through 150 pages of posts in the forum during the time I was away.

Wow - lot has happened - CONGRATS to all of you that have received the visa :)

A special mention goes to fprince - I'm soooooooooo glad for you dude :D

And welcome to all the new members that have joined the forum.

I returned to Canada on Jun 4 along with my wife 8) It is so good to be with her now after such a long wait. Thanks for all of your support in the long drawn process.

Oh and I also found out from the CAIPS/FOSS notes that super long delay in our PPR was not due to CHC ND, but due to IPS. Apparently, CHC ND had sent out our PPR within a week after they received our file in ND, but that PPR was never received by my wife. Go figure. It was only the subsequent PPR they sent after my CSEs that she received.

Also, the COPR she received was the 3 pages carbon copy type with the top one having her photo. When we landed, she had to sign it along with the immigration officer and they stapled the last copy of it to her passport.

When she had received her passport back from CHC ND, along with her COPR they sent her a welcome letter and returned back about two thrids of photographs we had sent to them. They kept everything else we had sent to them as part of the application.

hey...glad to hear that u r back in the country with ur other half... :)

all the best in the life :)

I went to the embassy yesterday, and they said that the website is not showing the correct information somehow, the decision has not yet been made, they do have my passports with them.
This makes me even more worried, a month since the interview and no decision yet :(
The guy at the counter was pretty rude and said why did i even come here i should've just emailed.

they are always rude....they really dont care if u have been standing in the line for so many hours in hot weather...i would follow up with them in email by CSE....

i think i wrote 2 but i have no idea.
however that time i filled the form... the travel history for NA and now i am sending that form again and mentioned 2 as passport numbers and travel history as NA because i never travelled to any country.
they asked for my old passport because the old passport number was mentioned in new passport.

DNT is kinda right
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3904E.PDF

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION FORM - DELHI
To be completed by ALL applicants aged 18 years or older

DETAILS OF FOREIGN TRAVEL
1. How many passports have you had, including the one you currently hold? _____

Did you say 1 or 2 when you applied?

If you said 1, they can hold you for mis-representation.

u need to send old passport else they will ask for it. if old passport number is mentioned in new one then they must will ask it. if you have no info about old passport in new passport or any forms that you have filled then relax and chill!

if u dont have old passport then no need to worry, if ur name was included in ur mother's passport even then no need to send.

Ahaan, yes I did write a letter saying that I travelled on my mother's passport as a minor, but I did not think of inclusing a copy of that passport. Will get it xeroxed now and include that. What about my other passport when I was 10? Do I include that too?

DNT2003 you have been tres tres helpful!! Cant thank you enough :)

Thanks for the wishes and you have avoided delay.... :)
also make sure u sending copy of letter sent by chc nd which has PPR request as it contains the file number. if u dont include that then there might be a problem for misplacing the PP. if u have file number then it will go to right dept

Hey, thanks for posting this. I believe this has been of great help to me. When my wife got a phone call asking to submit passport they did not ask for her old passports. So she had mailed her current passport to them. But after reading your post I asked to her to mail her old passports aswell. I believe this will save us from delay. Thanks again and I wish you the best.

while filing the applicaiton, there is a section about where did you go for honeymoon?
if you have said yes then be truthful and if no then explain them that you did not go for the honeymoon
else u would be liable for misrepresentation of facts

Hi, Everyone,

I'm really confused, and I'm hoping to find some answers. I have submitted application to sponsor my husband from India on March 9, 2011 and New Delhi received it on April 18/2011. My husband got a letter saying they want him to send his passport on June 14/2011 and also provide phone bills and photos of our outings after marriage. The thing is I had submitted my phone bills but it was missing 2 months of call logs because I was using a different phone to call my husband and hadn't received the phone bill for that phone when i had submitted my application. I had also submitted photos of our outings. The only thing is we didn't have a honeymoon because there were family weddings that we had to attend after our marriage. We did however go out after our engagement and these are the pictures that i had sent. I found couple of new ones and sent these along with the old one that I had submitted. Any thoughts on how the ND IO is going to be looking at this case?

I'm really scared they might reject our file because of my mistake. I didn't want to lie and say we had a honeymoon and submit our pre-wedding outings pictures, but now they asked for more proof because it seems like our relationship is not genuine. I really don't know what to do, and I'm really confused. Please shed some light on this situation. It will be really helpful!

Thanks!

Not really. In those days kids are added to their parents passports but it's not their passport technically. There is no need to send ur parents passports to ND.

My husband had traveled on his mother's passport too..but we only mentioned the number of passports he had under his name. We did include all the travel history, but didn't bother to say it was under the mother's passport. So far they've not asked for anything about this.

Another Saturday Morning!!! waiting to hear some good news!!! :D :D :D

Hey thanks for this info :) So technically I have 2 passports and I hope the ND does not go into the un-technicalities of it all ;D

Oh yes you are right!! I had to wait soooooo long to get the medicals done just cos they were full of student applicants. Apparently, this is that time of the year when universities intake new admissions ???

hello guys!!
my new passport reached ND on 21st may 2011 and they started processing on 8th june and sent me a letter on 8th june asking for old passport which i sent today i.e. on 19th June.
My status shows IN PROCESS

Now starting 19th June, how much time they will take to process the visa. Will it again take 19 days for them to start processing or less or they will start processing it immediately when the passport is reached because I am concerned that if the file is alsready under process it should not take much time?

i dont think that immigration section deals with student visas because student visa is non-immigrant visa but if they deals then its a problem!!
