From what I know..medical is valid for an year and Pcc for 3 months.. This is really strange..y did they ask for a new passport if the one you have is unexpired..has ur appearance changed dramatically?? You made me worried as I have gained quite a few pounds since the passport was first issued..

I am in great trouble here... I got a letter from ND alongwith my passport that my passport is unfit to travel and I should get a new passport... I have and old picture on the passport although its still valid for a long time.... i went to passport office today to apply for passport under tatkal scheme and they said that since my appearance has changed so i can't apply it under tatkal and i will have to apply it under normal procedure. So, i am in big trouble here because in normal procedure, passport office takes about one month for providing the passport. I have the following questions... please try to answer them:

1. for how long is the medical valid?
2. for how long is the PCC valid? My PCC was signed from SSP.
3. how much long validity does one need on passport?

Would there be an update on ecas saying a ppr has been mailed out? Right nw, my ecas says app rcvd..what is the next update most likely goin to be? In process, ppr sent or what? I know ND is un
predictable but still want to know wat to expect ..

@manisha10 - The next step is In Process ( some don't get this) then its Decision Made and finally when they land it becomes Completed.

Pls note that sometimes your status does not have to change, even after you have received the visa in your hand.

You will only know for sure if a ppr has been sent once it is delivered from your postman/woman

Sorry it took me so long, I talked to a lady named Elizabeth Craig. Dont mention my name, I was pushy didnt get on well with her. LoL. I gave her a hard time. I insisted that I needed them to fairly participate in an interview to bring my husband here and that they (CIC) did not give me enough time to order them in 30 days. Be persistant!!!

For those that received the COPR... did the top of the document say something like Generic Document 3..... and then followed by the title Confirmation of Perm. Res.

Also was it 3 sheets of paper with carbon copy sheets in between?

Omg!!!this entire process is freakin me out..there is essentially no way of knowing if a ppr has been mailed..and with the kind of postal system in india, I'm gettin nervous thanks for the reply..

It is a very frustrating process, since communication is limited. But be rest assured that you will get your ppr.

1. 1 year from the date you did the medicals, when did you do it
2. Doesnt matter you already submitted one, they will do the BC
3. If your PP expires soon or within 6 months before Visa is issued they will need a New Passport. ..IF PP expires before medicals validity does, again they wont issue it on that PP.
So lets say your PP should be valid for more than 1 year from the time you did your medicals.

If this is the case, sorry it was the applicants mistake as it is a RULE for most counrties Visa process.

So they sent your PP back as it is expiring soon? they can not send it back cos your pic was old, my chic looked like a kid in her PP and they had no issues with that.

One more thing, these guys make it complicated.
NOW as you are married check what kind of info they need for the new passport, i read that they will require an attested marriage certificate
Check all documents you need before you apply to avoid furthur delay.

I was freaking out when my hubby was showing this to me... I have a feeling I'm the one that's not done with ND :S

When you talk to her tmrw can you just confirm and let me know what exactly she got and how it looks?

I saw the sheet with his pic so that's a big check
Its the 3 paged document that's getting to me... and it says COPR on the first page ( but its a second title to the Generic Doc.... wording)

The 3 page document is info for the applicant..brush your teeth, shave, shower...blah blah blah

The one pager with the sexy pic is what matters 8)
Just ask him to make sure every field abt him and u is right.....100% important name,dob, pp # of applicant.

But the 3 page document has carbon paper in between... why would that be if its just info? I'm pretty sure everything is in order... but you know me....

I will confirm by 11 pm tonight, promise your wont freak out if i don have the carbon.

Cos its a letter and THEY DONT HAVE TO SIGN...it should be a mistake ;D
