Yesterday...,my husband got a call from NEW DELHI ....they basically did a phone interview....asked him alot of queztions....like when we met..our marriage...what job i do...how we co,mmunicate...who i live wit.. i hope he gets his PPR THEN STAMPED WITH A VISA

has anyone else....applicant got a ccall from new delhi....basically doing a phone interview?

This is not an interview, they usually will call either the applicant or sponsor if the sponsor has been in India for a while for the marriage.
Happened in my friends case where he was in india for 3 months and came back..they called him in Canada and asked him a few questions.
This is considered as screening and usually can happen randomly.
Regardless now this is done, you should be all clear for the VISA

Question for those with interview requests.

Did you receive a letter in the mail?

B/c at this point we only see an update on ecas for an interview, there have been no other details regarding the interview and it is set for next week. Not sure what to do. My partner will have to make travel arrangements asap but not sure if he should or not and if he needs to bring a letter with him.

Any advise???

The letter is sent through normal post and can take anywhere from 7-20 days depending on location and how IPS works.
They scheduled your interview soon so in case if you don't get the letter by next week all you need to do is take a print out of ecas with updates.
They have your file and the know that you are scheduled for an interview.
I have read posts that the letter talks about when, where and time of interview.
All the best, the post could have been delayed due to Easter.

i know how it feels when u land in the country and see changes...few of us still spend some time with "past memories" and wish if they can even share with someone....but seems like everyone is so busy that they all want to move forward...

From what I can see this is a good sign, they are working on your file, I'm glad you got the call, cuz now you know whats going on, and thanks for sharing the questions part, you did say "asked him alot of queztions" and you did list few questions, if you can remember if he was asked more questions please do share with us, I do want to pre-pare my wife for this random check ups.

I hope you get the PPR letter soon, or I wonder if they can send you a PERMIT or how they used to do the IMM 1000, where you never have to send your passports in, they were happy with just the copies of the passports... I'm talking about back in 1997..

I do like part print screen part, and taking it with you to the interview, I hope you receive the letter.

i have read that the applicant gets a written notification advising them about the location, time and date of the interview....in ur case.... ur partner's interview is next week....so i would suggest to take a print out/screen shot of the e-cas update and take it with you on the interview date....if asked @ the security check....present them with the proof...they will probably have the info that the person is coming for an interview....but this is a back up....just in case....

FebPR your idea seems really good, give CHC-ND a call and see whats going on, inquire about the interview part, and see where that leads you to... any how... good luck Vegan.

I was thinking if it would be a good idea to call them to confirm the location and timing of the interview. You can explain to them that you have not received any letter from CHC-New Delhi but e-cas is showing the interview.

The person going for the interview needs to send the e-mail. Worst case scenerio if they dont respnd then bring yoru ECAS, but do you know the time of the interview? On my ECAS the time was not indicated.

Crap, I did send a CSE earlier today but I didn't put URGENT on it. I attached his ppr letter to the CSE, not sure if that will help anything. I will try calling tonight as well.
I had a feeling that the letter would have the pertinent details, especially the time because it is not on ECAS, just the date.
I am having a bad week, sorry if I sound like I am complaining, just too many little things adding up. Thanks for listening.
