Finally I'm glad for one thing which I accomplished today.

I managed to submit all my OCI stuff today, and I hope they work on it quick and send it back to me before the Canadian Visa is given to my wife, else I might have to meet my wife in USA Airport and accompany her from the US Airport to Toronto :)

Not sure if she needs a transit visa if she already does not have a US Visa.

If you plan to meet her in the US (or even have connecting flights through US), she will need to have a US Visa unless she already has one right now. It is generally difficult for someone to obtain US Visa who is already planning on leaving their home country to settle in another country. The case of a wife coming to Canada to settle with her husband might be different, but it still may be difficult. Why aren't you thinking of having your wife to come directly to Canada?

Good luck with the OCI though, hopefully you get it before your wife gets the Canadian Visa :)

Maybe this questions has not been answered... or it may have been... just going through all the posts from past 2 days..

It will show only the address of the person who is sponsoring, your address will not be shown with SPONSOR info, you will need the file # to see your address (but that also disappears from time to time), but don't worry as long as you had the correct address in the forms you submitted you will be fine:)

Thanks DNT2003!! Well I don't know what the file # is... there is one kit id # on the AOR but i can't use that to login to ECAS...Neither can I use my (applicant) information along with client id # or receipt # to login to ECAS...

You need to use the sponsors information for receipt ID or Client ID.
File number you would use the applicants info.
It should work if you try again.

You need to wait for your PPR or any other communication from ND, which will have your (applicant's) client id # and file #. Only then you can use your information to login to eCAS. Until then, the only way you can login is using the sponsor's client id # or receipt # with the sponsor's details.

hi all...

it's tuesday in india...a new day with new hopes....

lets hope that tuesday brings the good news for the people who are in the queue to hear good news from chc nd

all the best and good luck :)

Is that a possibility?

I mean what if I book her tickets like this (transit) : BOM to Newark (New Jersey) (Transfer) Newark NJ to YYZ
What I will do is fly down to Newark NJ just few hours before the flight from India Comes.
And already have a booking READY for SAME FLIGHT that she will take from NJ to YYZ?

Wouldn't that work?

Ohh that sucks, I should have read before I posted the above.... but I usually reply as I read :)

I want to meet her directly in India, but if worst comes to worst I was thinking of meeting her in US, but from your input it looks like connecting flights will have an issue too? That's strange, I thought Airport (inside) you are mostly allowed to land for connecting flight from the same flight route without a VISA.

Can someone who has gone through the experience expand on this topic please :)

So far the best combination that have always worked for me:
Official Receipt: starting with Rxxxxxxxxxxx
Lastname: Last name of the SPONSOR
DOB: again the SPONSOR
Country of Birth: again the Sponsor

Also I do suggest you flip the LAST NAME part and put the FIRST NAME there it might work, good luck and let us know what happens.
Try again and it will work.

if you are transitting through the US (connecting flights) you need a transit Visa for the US. Thats the reason my husband didntcome through there.

That is the United States of America for you :o. You can connect through most countries without needing a transit visa, but for the US, you need one.

The second thing is, if you are thinking you can't go to India because you won't have your Passport back in time, you won't be able to go to the US either without your Passport. It is now mandatory for Canadians travelling to US to have a Passport, regardless if they travel by Air or Road.

@ avibis,

Yup, I have sent them a min of 5 CSE but there has been no reply asof yet. Has anyone ever contacted the MP? If yes, I would like to understand the procedure.

@ Fprince,

I was wondering if you also have tried going to the MP, any advise??
