hmm yeah.. My husband took mixie, cooker etc when he left after marriage.. to reduce my weight lol. so I just gotta take other cooking utensils, dhals, rice wheat etc, masalas etc etc. whew, I do have lot to pack

we hav lot toack but the pbm is that they give us on 23kg which actually is very less when we start packing it get completed with very few things........

Yea that's a long time to wait. There you get a letter or anything waiving your interview?

No, I dint get anything like that. In fact, one of us (similar to my timeline) got the interview letter after getting PPR after 2 and half months.. So it clearly slows that they have not opened our files for 2 and half months. As soon as they opened, they asked for PPR, without even processing the file. Once they sent the PPR, and started processing, they ve found out that interview is needed, and sent that letter also. So bad of ND !! no conscience.

They allow 2 baggages right.. 23 kg each.. so totally 46 kg.

LOL why are you picking all those masalas and rice and wheat from India? Customs gonna ask u all stupid questions, We have lots of india stores here like FRUITICANA - you can get anything here that u can get in India, From any masala you want to a black HERO CYCLE if u want and MANJA also if u want so just relax, I would say from India get some Baba Ramdev supplements like chawanprash u wont get that here. Rest all you can get here, dont bother taking all those things from India , we did the same mistake, But u will be amazed to see here, u will find those masalas here which u might not find in India.

Yea I am expecting anything from them. I don't put any excitment into getting this ppt request, it even says in bold you may not get your visa even though they are asking for it. The only thing I didn't know is if they sent out interview waivers, or if you are just left hanging until you get your passport back or an interview letter...

yupssssss but thats also not much becos some of weight is of suitcase itself when my husband went back i tried to seng my wedding lehnga with him but iwas not able to as the weight was alredy 46.............

lol. My husband says the same thing, that we l get everything here I was just thinking.. anyhow am not planning to buy stuff from outside and bring. I am gonna bring all homemade stuff alone, which u cannot get anywhere from canadian stores u see mom's preparation

Get the China Eastern Airlines and u can bring 32 kg + 32 kg baggage

Be careful what you bring, Panda is right, and if it's homemade, depending what it is, they (Border officers) will just toss it. You won't even be allowed in with certain items. If you don't tell them you have food items, and they find it upon a secondary search you get a fine.

Yeah it happened with me , when they give u the declaration form around 1 hour before u r going to land in Canada, just fill everything u brought like clothes, calendars, staionery and mark it around $50 or something, If u dont do it and mark it nothing and $0 then they gotta get suspicious and will ask u to open the bags so just make it atleast like $50 value, upto 700$ is free so no worries.

I made a mistake last time I entered zero zero zero lol and they opened my bags and found out baba ramdev's chawanprash in it and they r like what is this, I said this jam made with natural ingredients and the custom officer was nice so she said, do declare it next time to avoid any hassles and then she let me go LOL

My Chawanprash is over now :-( I want more

So just put like 2-3 items atleast on the declaration card so be safe
