Yep, he had until March 11th, 2011. But it also said no further processing would take place until he sent in what they requested. So he didn't want to delay it.

oh. strange. They never mention that in PPR letter. So did they ask just for the ppt? or PCC fees etc also?

they ask for ppt, fees if not already paid and police record if not submitted. So he re-did his police record for Greece as the last one submitted was done in November 2010, and he didnt need one for India because he left there about 1 month after he turned 18.

K this is what a standard ppr letter looks like

We have received your application for permanent residence in Canada and have created a file with the file number indicated above. Please quote this file number in all future correspondence with our office. As well, you will find attached file labels which bear your file number and a bar code that can be scanned in to our computerized processing system. Please be sure to attach one of these labels to the covering page of all correspondence faxed or mailed to this office. By using these labels you can help us work more efficiently to process your application. However, please do not affix these labels on demand drafts as they will not be accepted for payment by our bank.
Canada has a carefully managed and controlled immigration program that is committed to maintaining a balance of 60% economic immigrants and 40% non-economic immigrants (family class, refugees, and those in need of protection). Amongst non-economic immigrants, priority is given to spouses/partners and dependent children.
In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the following as soon as possible:

.Payment of your 'Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada. if not already paid.
.Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted.
.Submission of original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your accompanying members
— passport for a .child between the ages of 7 and 18 must have been taken within the last 5 years.
Please note that a request for your passport(s) at this time is not a guarantee of visa issuance.

Passports are requested so that we can hold them on your file and issue your visa as soon as possible after all requirements have been met. PLEASE RETURN A COPY OF THIS LETTER WITH THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS. Documents and passports must be submitted in a SINGLE package. Do not submit any documents and passports until you have prepared the entire package.
If you do not have a passport at this time, you are requested to obtain one and send it along with the other requested documentation. Passports should be sent by any secured mail deliverers (hand delivery will not be accepted). Passports can not be returned to addresses outside of India Nepal and Bhutan.
If any other documents are requested before or after your passport is submitted, you must comply with that request. No decision will be taken on your application until all of the requested documents have been received by us.
You MUST inform our office of any change in your mailing address, a change in your marital and/or family status, or other information relevant to your application. Due to our operational constraints we will not be able to acknowledge receipt of the new information, but it will be noted on your file. You may also visit our websites: www.cic.gc.ca or www.india.gc.ca should you require more information on the processing of your application.

Yes it was a standard letter. But he was given a deadline. I know this because they also e-mailed me, because I am also his representative. So they e-mailed me a shortened request (with what they wanted from him) and told me we had until March 11th, 2011.

You will be hearing something soon, your file was transferred about 2 weeks after mine and they made the request for his ppt nearly a week after it arrived in their office.

Its nice to see that New Delhi is back to their routine - asking for ppt within a week after the file arrives in their office. Still its a mystery, why did it take 2 and half months for them to ask for ppt, to some of us.. They basically did not open our files in those 2 and half months. As soon as they opened, they asked for the ppt.

Well maybe they are just getting back on track. As for them not asking for your passport for 2 and half months, that doesnt make sense, at all. I don't get the sense that they are processing anything for my husband yet, I think the file arrived there and they said "oh let's send him the letter". It could now sit there many months. Had there been some sort of processing at all, we would know right away whether or not he had to have an interview.

For all of you that waited 2 and half months, it was in the latter half of the year and I think it had more to do with that. But I don't know I am speculating...

GM. I might pack all Indian masalas etc for cooking as my husband is alone there, he doesnt cook much of that. So I gotta take all of them. Planning to buy all winter clothing once I reach canada. so have u started packing?

ur right. It shud be with yr end and qouta ( but what can we do, its not our mistake to apply in september. I would say, they shud atleast let us know whats going on there, instead of making us anxious. U knw I have been waiting for my PPR from October, and I finally got it after 2 and half months, only during Decemeber

i hav suits which i got during my wedding so just buying some cooking utensils like cooker etc as he dont hav them ...n clothes will buy from canada with him.........hmm masala too..............

Yea that's a long time to wait. Did you get a letter or anything waiving your interview?
