Hi everyone, it's great to find this thread for Accra. I am Canadian and my husband is from Nigeria. We are living in Europe. We applied at the end of February this year and I was approved as a sponsor two weeks after. We have since been waiting. Just curious what everyone is experiencing for waiting times these days. Also curious as to what happens, both positively and negatively if in the midst of waiting if we were to conceive what would happen to this whole process? Anyone had a similar experience? Thanks in advance and praying the Lord does a great work for all of us. Blessings

You are welcome on board @Shanda9, Patient is the key to unlock FAM application long waiting. We all are riding on the same train. Have you received you SA? and when did you receive it?
A big congrats to all those who have received their VISA. More blessing awaiting everyone of us in the near future.

Cisco thanks so much.....I got pick up mail tooo but I don't know if DHL works during the holidays

Welcome @Shanda9! And congratulations to all those receiving PR!

Just wondering if anyone is using a representative/lawyer? Or if most people are doing the process by themselves.

How do you know when your app has been filed? Are people counting that day as the day they mailed it? Or the day you get notification that it is in?

The sponsorship approval is followed by a long silence from Accra. Conceiving will not sway Accra to expedite the process, if anything it will solidify proof that your relation is genuine. I am also a Feb 2016 applicant waiting for news from Accra. If recent updates (doc request of a Dec 2015 applicant) are anything to go by, we could be the next in line for updates for further documents, PPR or both...so be on the long look out!

Processing time starts from the date CIC receives your application.

Thanks Mandie. I'm just debating if I want to ask my lawyer all the info to follow our application or just let her deal with it and not think about it too much. Patience is easier in theory than it is in real life. :)

I think you should just let her deal with it, as you are patiently waiting for 7-8 months approximately base on the trend on processing time.

Hi ikema, yeah, I'm thinking I should just let it be. I'm normally a control freak haha, so this is hard! But it will be less stressful probably. Wishing everyone luck!! :)

What is your timeline like?

Yea it's very stressful and difficult to stay away so long from our dear love one. All we need is comfort to carry on and real patient. If you have your bible you can read 2Corithians 1:2,3. That is were I get my comfort. We just need to put our trust in God for his blessings and appointed time. Happiness is awaiting everyone of us.

I am February applicant. Same time line like Mandie.
