Absolutely correct! With the first draw of the new EOI published, one can say it’s going to be significantly hard for anyone without a job offer to be invited. The parameters are now so broad that a fam connection and in demand job won’t cut it anymore.

And I think with their own EOI process now, it’s going to be very competitive coupled with broadening of family connection. I guess we will know more once they do a few draws to see the pattern.

The family connection he has does not give him any advantage. What they are looking for is parent, child, or sibling. Family connection is still a selection factor and is an advantage if it fits the criteria.

Late update…my nephew got PPR on July 16 and then arrived in Canada on August 13. Settling in before lectures starts on Sep 3. This forum has been a great source of help for the process. Good luck everyone!

If you get invited they will send you a link to the portal; it’d only when you get the link then you can have access. You will be asked to use the same email address you used for the NOI. The link is not “disabled” but if you are not selected you can’t log on. Hope that makes sense.

Could be from draws last year, which were processed this year. There has been no express entry draw for family connection this year as per their website.

This year’s draws have mainly been healthcare. I wonder if they will ever do a family connection + occupation in demand before the year ends!
