Hi Folks,

I checked the forum & found there is virtually no thread to track Dependent Child Sponsorship applications.

Hence creating this thread to track Dependent Child Sponsorship applications submitted in 2017.

Here are the details of my application :

Application received at CPC-Mississauga : 14-Feb-2017

AOR1/AOR2 - 27-Feb-2017

Sponsorship Approval : 04-Mar-2017

Case forwarded to New Delhi Visa Office : 15-Mar-2017

People have created similar threads in the past but because dependent child sponsorship isn't the most common scenario, the threads tend to fade quite quickly.

I am tying to find where it say that you have to earn a certain amount of money to sponsor a dependent child . I have looked at every form i can possible research and i just cant make it out thats all i get is you have to earn a certain amount to sponsor a dependent yet dont have to earn any money to sponsor a spouse. can either of you help me clear this up .

As with spousal sponsorship, there is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a dependent child.

Today i received the Medical request

Hi Guys,

In our PR application, my wife was primary applicant. We did short landing in Jan 2016 and went back to US then my daughter was born after that in July 2016. My daughter is US citizen so we didn't face problem in bringing her in Canada on temporary status. Now we want to sponsor her for PR. Should my wife be the sponsor or i can become sponsor as well providing i was not primary applicant on original PR application. Reason why I am asking this question is because one question in child PR application says in last 5 years if you became Permanent Resident after being sponsored as a spouse then you cannot sponsor your child. I can make my wife as Sponsor but she is now working right now and we can explain our financial situation 5481E form because I am working currently and drawing salary per month. But what do you suggest?

You weren't sponsored; you were a dependent in an economic app, which is totally different. It doesn't matter which of you is the sponsor in your child's application.
