How to get Police Clearance Certificates from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Some members have messaged me to enquire about the procedure of getting PCCs from Riyadh. For everyone's benefit, I am detailing the process here.
Step 1. Once you have received the request letters in Arabic from CHC, fill them out in Arabic with your name, nationality and pasport number and date. The forms will be already signed by an official of Canadian Embassy in Riyadh. I think, Canadian Embassy in Riyadh sends these unfilled but signed forms to CHC, London and they send them to applicants.
Step 2: Take these forms to Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Naseriyah, Riyadh. Coordinates: 24.649396,46.692538. You'll need to pay 30 SR per letter to get them attested from the officer there. He'll put a stamp on it. He did not ask me to show Iqamah or passport, take these documents with you, just in case. Go there before 1.00pm preferably.
Step 3: After this, you need to go to the Criminal Investigation Department (Adilah Hala janahiya) in Dirah. Coordinates:24.62653,46.715605
You must reach there before 1.00pm. Take your spouse and other 18+ family members with you. They have separate sections for men and women. Get a token from counter and wait for your turn. At your turn, the officer will ask for a copy of your photo, passport and Iqama and fill out a form for you. He'll also give you a stub for delivery. He'll then ask you to carry this form to another officer who will take your finger and hand prints on the back of the same form . Be ready to have both your hands daubed. Once finished, wash your hands and you are good to go. The whole process should not take more than 1 hour. (For wome, the don't use electronic finger capturing instead of ink. Luck they!). I applied on Saturday and got mine at 9.00am on Monday.
Step 4: Come back after 1 day in the morning to the same office, show them the stub and receive your PCC. It will be the same form with your finger prints on the back and stamped (hopefully) with a big "No Criminal Record".(You can get your wife and daughters' PCC from the manager inside and they don't need to collect in person).
Step 5: Get them translated from an agency. There are many near Malaz McDonald's, Sitteen Road. Coordinates: 24.668868,46.727685
They charged me 80 SR for 2 and gave them back to me in half an hour. Make sure you get the spelling of your name right in the translation.
I hope this was helpful. The process for other cities should be similar.
