Was surfing and found this:
From wikipedia: "Jason Kenney has held the post of Minister for Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism since October 30, 2008."....
My 2 bits:
No wonder he over-wrote the previous minister's long running immigration criteria in 1 month of his appointment, since MI-1 started on 28 Nov 2008 on his instructions (ministerial insrtuctions given by him). Now, he cancelled all applications received before 2008 (in the previous rules) and rejected so many people (I think close to 2.75 lakh) who had been waiting for so many years...good thing is generally a man does not over-write his own placed set of rules, so hopefully, MI-1 should be safe, since he , himself appointed these laws.
Also, friends/family who ve been livin in Canada for over a decade were telling me that both Jason Kenney (current immigration minister since 2008) and Stephen Harper (current prime minister since 2006) are both from the Conservative party. And the general feel of Canadian public is that the Conservative party (unlike the Liberal party) has always had slightly "anti-immigrant" policies/ideas , since conservatives always said that criteria to come to canada was too easy and needs to be tightened, so less people come through for Canada s benefit, etc etc. Immigrant people who themselves immigrated and were living in Canada never liked such policies/ideas, since they wanted their friends and family to follow them to Canada too..(Why the Conservatives won is another topic)...Hence, we see criterias getting tighter and tighter every year, ever since this Conservative govt has come into power for the past 4-5 years....well, i know this is debateable, since figures on the website do suggest that the number of immigrants coming into Canada has not dropped in the past few years, and stays around the 2.5 lakh/year mark....but u know what I'm saying, ...its getting tighter and tighter every year (with limited professions/cap on number etc.)...esp. for the upcoming new prospective immigrants for next year, I feel it ll be further tighter..
Having said that, the bottom line is , "If Allah wills, no one can stop u, and if He does not will, no one can help u"...so no need to worry about the long term future, as we have no control over it anyways. One should keep trying and leave the rest to the best planner, Allah, and He will do what is best for us all, InshaAllah
