Thoz who got 6-12 months wait letter

Hi ,

I am citizen of India residing in the UAE. I received a 6 to 12 months wait letter on the 26th of March 2012. 12 months are over an I still havent received any communication from LVO. I had applied in Feb 2010 , received the 1st AOR on the 7th of May 2010 and received the 2nd AOR on the 10th of October 2010.

I have sent a case specific inquiry today. Do you think they will send me any reply at all in the next 28 days?

ANALYSIS ON MY 2 GCMS END OF AUG 2012 AND START OF FEB 2013

UPDATED DATE IS CHANGED TO 15/12/2012 FROM 27/04/2012 which means some activity happened.

1. I noticed that under Eligibility Assessment a new line has been added which says: Version 2010-06
2. I noticed that under Medical (IME) #: XXXXX a new line has been added which says: Reason for Closure: IME – Pre-12/2012

All other GCMS is same and now my questions:
1. What is IME?
2. Anybody has similar GCMS then please let me know before/after any time and what is his/her current status?
3. So I can figure out may be I am the lucky one who will receive MR or 18 months bad news!!!

Please check your GCMS and share here so may be this can give us clue....
Especially who already got 18 months email...JAMY/others....please check your GCMS

Now in last I will request to all to apply for GCMS so we can share this kind of details....and will try to understand what is going on with us....

I have the same in medical assessment. It gives my IME # and below it says Reason for closure: IME Pre 12/2012

What does this mean? My medicals have expired. Will they give me an extension or should I ask them if I need to redo it?

Please help!

I had ordered CAIPS 2 on 30 Mar 2013 through lawpoint. Today I got 11 pages of CAIPS. Nothing special to mention though.
I am still waiting to receive mt medical forms which they said they sent me on 12 Apr 2013.
I pray all of us get visas soon.

“Section 22(2) of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) states: “An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay.” This can come up in a situation where an international student has one intention to apply for a study permit (as a temporary resident) and a second intention to apply for permanent residency. An applicant may have several mechanisms under the Act allowing them to transfer from the temporary resident stream to the permanent resident stream that would satisfy this dual intent provision. This “dual intent' is not grounds for refusal of the study permit.”
1. As you can see the immigration should not affect your study permit this should answer your first point.
2. The minute they put your name in the system for any visa the system will indicate that you have an immigration application that is pending which should not affect you negatively in any way.
3. One of the question on your study permit ask if you have done medical for any type of visa so I am assuming that you don't need to do it again.

By the way I strongly recommend to start applying for the study permit as it take at least 21 working days which mean more than one month and if you wait for June July to apply when the Saudi high school grades are out and then start applying for visa it will take more than two months.
I have applied for my daughter study permit from Saudi Arabia and a visit visa for me, after one week they send me a message indicating that they received the application and I am still waiting.

I am exactly in the same situation as you. I am in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and I have secured admission to PhD with funding and I am suposed to be in Canada before September. I am not sure if I can make it in time.

No, I haven't yet applied for study permit. I am waiting for PR. I think you have strong chances of getting PR before Sep 2103 inshAllah.

Normally PVO has 60 days time but you set the target of 30 days to complete all MR&UDR
