If this is true then probably my application will be one of the last MI1 applicants to be processed as it was accepted just a few days before they discontinued the MI1 categories..........

My analysis from the posts and latest data release is that MI1 will be processed after MI2 & MI3 as they have preference in the system and the applicants of April, May & June 2010 of MI1 will be getting visa's ( all of them ) by mid of 2014, as the new rules will be operational from may that will further slow the Visa process for existing cases

There can be a natural slow-down/freeze on visas towards the end of the year. Once a visa office reaches it's target it cannot grant any further visas until the following year, so this may account for less visas being approved after September.

Well honestly speaking after looking at the inventory numbers I noted that only 7% of the cases from MI1 are finalized during the third quarter of 2012. The inventory backlog (persons) of all skilled workers (MI1, MI2, and MI3) still stands at 105,188 persons whereas the total quota (2013 Plan Admissions Ranges) for this class is 55,300. So even if we ignore the new set of MI starting this year (which will definitely have a priority over the existing backlog), they will at least need another two years to process all of the standing backlog. So for some of us, we might have to wait till the end of 2014, whereas some others (especially the ones with application to CIO during 2009) will be getting their visas sometime soon.

So happy waiting and keep preparing

I would like to be hopeful Minister Kenny is working constantly over this backlog issue and is really working for a smooth and fast progress. These are the following points that i would feel positive and heartning for us.
1) In one of the above posts there is a reference to Mr Kenny speeches where he would like to clear backlog by 2013, and for those with applications received till november 2012 he was thinking of clearing those aplications by 2014 (only those that were received later on for 2014)
2)Out of backlog of 105000 applicants only 70% will be successfull (average statistics) not all.
3)The new fsw applications would be commencing around may 2013, bi=ut it will go to novascotia, sydeny and not directly to London, meaning London visa office will not be receiving any thing before August 2013, when majority of the visa quotas are already filled. In addition after receiving of application it takes another 8-12 months for final decision, according to Minister Kenny. Thus i doubt any of the 2013 applicant would be able to receive visa from CHC london before mid of 2014.

In summary, Iam pretty much hopeful we all have visas by end of 2013
