Hi Guys,

Wow this thread is still active? :D

I thought that all of you already had their visas stamped or already in Canada.

I'm in Canada since 15 months now ;D

My experience considered ideal for so many people. Maybe not realistic in most of the cases.

The job was waiting for me before I landed. I managed to get an internal transfer in the company that I used to work in Dubai, to our headquarters in Canada.

So technically never searched for a job in Canada, never worked in surviver job and resumed working in my profession (Network Engineer) from day zero, with fairly good income.

The system here is new, everything is more organized than the middle east (Big Time), people are really nice and you can feel home from the very 1st day.

The Winter is really really really harsh. I consider this the main challenge in Canada.

Button line, the experience is very good in general, never regretted it and I don't think I will ever return back to my home country and leave Canada.

it happened to me as well. I got the permanent resident cards but still waiting for child benefits. CRA's last letter said I don't meet residency requirements so not eligible for benefits. I have sent the my PR card's copies. maybe there s a link with this status. or maybe not

At this point in time when CIC asked original passports for visa stamping within the given period .... I dont know what is the given time period ??? .... it may 20/30days but you could know better that could you get your new passports after renewal within the given period or not.........If you manage to get new passports within the given time, so it may extend the validity of yr visas ....... but nothing more than that....OR may extend the visa processing time......BUT if you could manage to travel before Apr-2015, so dont go for any hassle, fly with the current passports.
