I suppose there is a chance of refusal in case you got some ghosts in your closet which get revealed during the security check, but I am pretty sure all of us would know that something like that would come up, and we would have gotten an immigration lawyer to represent us, instead of doing our own applications. So, if you're certain there is nothing adverse against you, chances of refusal are slim, in my opinion.

Can someone really explain what security is ?

I am from December group, with AOR 15th December.....will approach 6 months next week.....my file got transferred to NDVO from Ottawa around 15th March.........u guys have incredible patience....good luck to all

Man, why don't you try that technique of sending an email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca with the word "URGENT" and your file number in the subject line. Include your full name, date of birth, UCI no. (if applicable) and category (like PNP) and ask them how come you are still waiting, especially since you saw in your GCMS notes that your case is approved!

This technique worked for at least 2 people posting here and they were told that the PPR was already sent a month ago!! I'm sure they are going to tell you that your PPR was also already sent. Then you can tell them to resend it.

I have a plan to do it soon. Lets see what happens in next week.

I have been waiting for 9 months. Everytime I called CIC, they mentioned that my background check still in process. Please let me know if someone can assist me what to do. It has been a long wait

There is nothin you can do directly. You can write to minister office, to a newspaper, or to your MP if you are in Canada. For all we know our batch of files is lost and CIC isn't going to look into their status until year passes judging by responses from agents.

Have you ordered GCMS ...write to CPC ottawa with Urgent Subject line ....most of us here are into the same condition of BG check in progress since last 4-5 months !!

Personally for me ..its 10th Month post AOR and 5 months completed for BG check today !!

Rightly said by asadchev ...looks like our files are lost somewhere :-)

Having entered the 14th month of waiting, and as I'm getting closer to the end of my current post-graduation work permit, I applied for a BOWP today. Does anyone know how long it takes to get BOWP? The CIC website doesn't show the processing times for this specific type of work permit extension.

Also, of all the people in this forum, is there anyone going past 14 months of waiting? I know there was one person who got PPR after 14 months, but is there anyone under EE who had to wait more than 14 months?

Hey buddy.
I think you hold the record, so far!
:(
What do they say when you call them? How long your file has been under Security Check?

9 months and 4 days for me and still counting

Hey Guy,

I also joined the gang. Completed 6 months and 3 days and no updates

Category........: FSW Outland
PNP: New Brunswick
Visa Office......: Singapore
NOC Code...... : 2173
App. Filed.......: 11/12/2015
AOR Received. : 11/12/2015
Med's Pass.... : 21/12/2105

completed 6 months today, AOR 15th Dec, Ontario PNP stream....file transferred to NDVO in March no movement after that.
I think I am also in for a long wait.

Got my notes today. Security not started, criminality in progress.
I have *dismissed* misdeamenors from over 15 years ago in US, for which i provided all documents when i applied. Judging by notes, my file gathered dust from November 2015 till April 2016 when i was requested personal statement after which it went back to gather dust.
At this rate I will have received green card before this comes to any resolution.
