Any ideas on what should I do regarding sending the passport, i am leaving on the 24th and coming back on the 7th, should I send it today ? or should I wait till I come back , I have 30 days to send my passport. I've also bought a non refundable 1000$ ticket.

Since you already waited almost a year, I would wait few more days if I were you. Coz $1000 is some money

GENTLEMEN, I've THE GOOOOOD NEWS, I HAVE RECEIVED THE REQUEST FOR PASSPORT.

Now here is the bad news, I am going to South America on the 24th of January. My passport is at the Brazilian Embassy. I live in Ottawa, I can go right now and get my passport and Send it to CIC , but do you think I will get it back in 10 days ? ( P.s. I live in Ottawa ).

How long does it take to receive your passport back once you send it ?

i've followed this thread for a while (might be joining it soon!), and i just have to say congratulations on FINALLY getting ppr! you have had the patience of a saint! all the best.

I have submitted my application on May 6th and still waiting.
They asked me twice in June and July to send my english test results and a CV but haven't had an update since then; not even ghost emails.
I also sent an enquiry in November (one week after 6 months expired) but didn't get any response. Call center says file is being processed.
The status on mycic says medical is passed but eligibility and background check is still in progress.

No guarantee how long CPC will take for the stamping; do it after your trip, but you can choose to contact CIC now and send them the details of your trip (ticket, itinerary, etc.) and say you'll send it as soon as you get back. They tend to give more than 30 days to submit with proof of travel.

What's happening?

Your medical went to "not needed at this time" because you did your medicals last year may be in the month of feb or march, So now it is going to be expire soon, So officer sent your medicals to re-asses to health branch, If they found nothing wrong and your previous medicals were passed with good grades then they will extend your previous medicals for another year, otherwise you might need to undergo for new medicals for that the chances are very less. Wait for another week or so you will came to know that they want new medicals or not.
