Hi everyone. I'd like to get your opinion regarding a sponsor diagnosed with cancer but only stage 1 and done with all the treatment. Will this be a concern on his eligibility to sponsor his wife?

No, it will have absolutely no effect. It wouldn't even be mentioned in the application as the health of sponsor is completely irrelevant.

It won't affect his eligibility as a sponsor. However if the sponsor is doing the inland application, the sponsor must show up at PR landing along with the applicant. If the sponsor too ill to show up at landing appointment, CIC can refuse to issue PR status and ask to reschedule appointment until sponsor is able to show up with applicant.

Keep this in mind if taking the inland sponsorship route.

No, it will not be concern on his eligibility.

But, just what I saw. I have close friends in the same situation. The sponsor/she/ have a cancer, but in not good condition and not completed treatment. They included all documents about the treatment in the application. After sponsorship approval she went to her MP. After 1 week her husband was at interview and he is already in Canada- September applicant. I helped them with some documents. I"m August and still waiting. The same VO. Just to mention, she has really difficult time alone with big pain.
