I don't think so, once you are destined to Alberta you need to be there atleast for some time duration.

Because it's the biggest city and they know somebody there already or they figure it's the most fun. If they did a bit of research, they would go to the city where they have the most job opportunities. I know one girl who immigrated to Canada who picked a city by closing her eyes and pointing at a map. She picked Montreal. She came there not having any idea that it's French. She did not speak a word of French. That is what not doing your research will do to you. That's how a lot of immigrants end up working in Walmart or driving a taxi too, because they settle somewhere, only find out later there are very few job opportunities.

why most immigrants get settled in Toronto?
Because they THINK that it offers the most opportunities and later on,They complain They are working in McDonalds or Driving Taxis,Its not the fault of Toronto that They do not bother to research the lack of jobs.Leon,Its a good thing that girl did not select Nunavut.....

Unemployment rates are low in BC, AB, SK and MB but everybody should look for jobs online to find out about employment in their own field. Maybe Toronto does have more opportunities for people in certain fields of employment and if so, they should go there but for most people, it's more likely that they will have better opportunites in the provinces where unemployment rates are low.
