Hi richterscale! Welcome to our thread!

I've already added you to our spreadsheet and you are currently on row# 30.

Good luck! ;) ;) ;)
Much thanks! I noticed that it's usually a passport request which comes after medical. In my case, I'm in Canada. What would possibly come next?

The Chill Spot was in the middle of page 2, you guys!

How is everyone holding up? What have you been doing to pass the time? Is anyone going to see their spouse soon?

I'm off to see my husband in 8 sleeps! This will be the last time before he comes here. My credit cards can't handle any more visits for a while.

Happy Friday! :-*

Hey everyone. Happy Friday! And happy month of November. I hope there is some good progress this month. Good luck.

By the way, Halloween was celebrated on the 31st of October in Canada, UK and USA. Just wondering if it is also celebrated in your part of the world? (Philippines, Australia, Austria, Rome, and other parts of the world?)

That's great lucky you!!! For me is another month and a half to be with my husband after 11 months ???

And it's going to be the last time too before I get there. While I'm waiting I'm in this forum, on FB, check my email 1000000 time everyday, hahaha, well you know the usual routine while you're waiting for news.

Beside that I'm working and spend lots of time with my family, they help me so much with their love and support.

Hi Desi I live in a place where people from Canada, USA, and other parts of the world come to spend their holidays, so Halloween has become part of traditions now somehow. Not like in other parts of the world, but you have Halloween stuff all over, and yeah it is October 31st.

Here in Mexico from October 31st to November 2nd we celebrate our beloved ones who passed away, during these days we put offers for them, in our houses or their graves with their favorite dishes, candies, flowers, pictures of them. The main day is November 2nd that is called "Día de los Muertos" (Day of the dead), Mexico is a pretty Catholic country so it's a tradition for us to make a prayer for our dead relatives and friends and after that have a meal with the family.

I thought Halloween was very much commercialized nowadays because it had become mostly about costumes and candy. That is really sweet to remember and pay respects to the deceased. I had heard about it before where some cultures believe that the dead spirits walk amongst the living on all hallow's eve (now known as Halloween) and had to be remembered.

There are no Halloween celebrations in India and, as far as I know, in Pakistan as well.

India has a large Hindu population and Hindus cremate the bodies and pour the ashes into the water so there isn't really a grave to go to visit. In the Muslim religion, I think women are not allowed to go to cemeteries. So I guess that even the Arab countries would not celebrate Halloween.

Still waiting for my status in ECAS to change from Application Received to Decision Made. I think I check my status 3x daily. It can get pretty boring here in Canada specially when you're waiting for something! :)

Ooohhh, the same here, this is fantastic! I've been trying to explain this to people before, and they gave me a wierd face, saying that oh, well... Thats nice, but Halloween seems to be more fun... :-\
This is a hurtful and respectful holiday for us, we do celebrate it on November 1 st. So it was yesterday. We only go to the graves, put flowers on it and light the candles. In the evening, the cemetery looks wonderful. Its amazing, really.

I am sorry for being away, but I am really busy. If i got some time, I look in Vienna thread to see if there is any good news - their good news would make me feel better, but this year NOBODY got PR , there are lot of people from last year, waiting for 12 months or even longer... They know nothing... So it tells me what can I except, actually this took my strength and energy away, I kind of lost my hope, because it is really torturing...

:) I was like that too, checking ECAS everyday.. But it got boring really fast cuz there were no updates... Now I check ECAS once a week or even once every two weeks. I know it's too early for any updates for me. At least the both of you are together.
Good luck.

Hey Hungary! Well, no worries about being busy. I am sure everyone else is. This chill spot is really starting to cool down unless some one new comes along... Only then do we have bursts of activity on the forum here.

How are you and the girls doing?

I was just curious about halloween and was just trying to get everyone involved again so I asked how everyone celebrates it, if they celebrate it at all.

I also pass my time now looking through the Delhi forum and there is always 5-10 pages to go through everyday. Even when there is nothing to talk about we make fun of the circumstances we are in...and the snail-paced visa officers who must still be sleeping after the strike. And there are lots of questions to be answered.

There are about 30 people waiting since 2012 in Delhi, and about 50-60 from Jan to April 2013 applicants. So I still have time to get my visa.

We celebrate November 1 and 2 the same way. The Philippines is also a Catholic country and we pray for the souls of our dead relatives through the rosary and prepare meals and eat them with family and relatives.

How's everyone doing?

I think in 2months we're all gonna receive the good news that we are all been waiting for.

Good luck to everyone! Stay positive! :p :p :p :p
