According to CIC, the Kitchener office is no longer operational. I live in Waterloo, ON, so what is going to happen when I need to write the test or attend the oath ceremony?

Your file will likely be transferred to another CIC local office closest to your residence.

Oh, no! The closest office is 71km away in Hamilton (and I do not have a driver's license or a car), so...it is very annoying.

Then I prefer to write the test and take the oath in Scarborough (since I can come up with an address in Markham that I used to live in). But since I do not know when I will get the test date (I applied January 2014, so I presume that it can be as early as July or August 2014 and as late as the same time in 2015). Things seemed to take less time than it used to, however (last time I saw this:

Application received: March 1, 2012
Processing started: October 3, 2012
Exam: January 31, 2013, mail lost
Exam: June 6, 2013
(This is the timeline for my father's application a while ago)
Never got oath, because he is dead.

Processing started: March 18, 2014

It took 7 months last time, it only took 2 months here, therefore, I extrapolate that by July or August, I could be called to write the test. But if I want to write in Scarborough, I have to report an address in the GTA......I do not know what to do.

Disappearing Kitchener office from ceremony schedule does not mean office is closed it mean no oath scheduled on April or May , I can't see also ceremony scheduled in NF or NB or NS don't tell me there no cic office in all the Atlantic or they closed all the Atlantic office .

Where did you get this information from? My recent aTIP files point to Kitchener being the responsible office for my test and ceremony.

My PR landing appointment is on Friday at the Kitchener office, so I highly doubt it is closed down completely. Maybe just relating to Citizenship apps?

could you post your timeline? When did you apply, when did you get AOR and In-process and when was your file transferred to the local office?

I took my test in Kitchener in late March and had my oath ceremony there on April 23rd.

They sure seemed open.
