Hi Legalfalcon

I have already submitted a reference letter for foreign work ex (CEC Inland) few days back that had few job duties mentioned and also not the all positions held. However, there is no change in the tenure of my work experience on the letter for which points were gained.

So I am in the process of getting updated reference letter (same tenure with all positions included and few more duties also) from the same employer and then sending it through a Case Specific enquiry.

Do you think that should be fine? Will it be at all considered?

Please advice.

Thank you!
Technically speaking what CIC wants a reference letter vouching for the time and the work done by the applicant. Even if you miss out on your previous positions with the company, but have mentioned how long you have worked, that would suffice. But the best it to have a complete record without gaps, and with all positions, different salaries at different times to that there is no ambiguity. This will help you not be called for an interview in case an agent finds something suspicious.

So get the revised letter and send a CSE.

Hi again Legalfalcon,

While filling e-APR, there was a question under my spouse' application - "Has this person ever used any other name?"
I entered no then.

Actually, I should have said "Yes". And given her name before marriage. So now I am thinking of sending a CSE attaching the marriage certificate again and her passport before marriage.

Will that be sufficient? Is it such a big issue that could lead to refusal?

Please advice.
Not a big issue at all. Just send a CSE and provide evidence that after the marriage the last name was changed. Do not be much concerned about it. Its a very regular issue and as along as you address it, you should be fine.

Hi legal falcon,

i am april aor and reach the 6 mos mark and still dont have ppr. I applied thru a representative. They said no update with our pr apps. But i applied by my own my bowp and got approved yesterday. So i would like to ask if your bowp got approved is it a good sign that i will receive a positive outcome with my ppr?
When your BOWP is approved it means that :

application has passed the R10 completeness check; or
a positive eligibility assessment has been received.

It neither shows that your application will be approved and how soon. But the good news is that your application is in progress and you just have to wait. I would advise you to order GCMS notes. I have seen cases where people whose BOWP has been approved get the PR within a few weeks and other had to wait for a few months. So I won't read too much, except that you should be happy that your application is progressing well and with the BOWP you are all good to work anywhere and stay in Canada until a decision on your EE application is made.

Hi legalfalcon,

Wanted to know if FSW candidates can start applying jobs in Canada after receiving ITA and is there a realistic chance of landing one?
Yes, you can start applying for jobs. How you get a job, and if getting one is easy are all a matter of various factors, from your field, experience, education, skill transferability etc.

Hello legalfalcon, I have been reading your steps. My med shows passed, bg in progress and got rcmp request. Which stage do you think I am now? I know that you dont work for cic, but any assumptions are good! Many thanks!
I don't make any speculations or assumptions. I make my assessments and answer questions based on the Canadian immigration law and the trends available on the forum. As far as your application, any progress is a good news. If your BGC is in progress you are at the last stage, but be aware that for some applications the BGC goes to in progress, then to not needed and then again to in progress. It all depends from application to application.

The only sure shot way of knowing where your application is to order GCMS notes.

Hello sir ,
I want to ask u question.i am april 14 Aor fsw ouland VO ottawa.i got my ppr mail on 26 th october.in mail it was written dat i need to indorm cic about pregnancy also.So i submiited pasaports through chandigarh VfS on 28th october with cover letter stating expected date of pregnancy that is 29th november but due to some complication (twins) ,doctor performed the operation on 29th october only and my wife gave birth to baby boy and baby girl.now is everthink will be ok by CIC as i stated expected date 29/11and then it became 29/10 due to complication.now wat will be the procedure to add kids as mine and my wife passport are already with canadian embassy.??will they stamp ????
Do not worry about the dates as medical procedures are beyond your control. But immediately send a CSE to CIC and inform them of the birth of your children. They will let you know the steps ahead. Usually, they will ask you to file some more papers, cancel the visas they have issued and re-issue you new visas for the entire family.

If you may have any questions, feel free to ask.

If you have already sent your passports, you need to inform CIC asap. Send an email to to the id you have on your PPR e-mail. CIC will send ask you for a few more documents and re-siiue you the visas for your, your spouse and your children. The visas you get now will not work and neither the COPR documents as it does not have the name of your kids.

I have applied as FSW outland, AOR 15 Jun'2016, with positive LMIA; but the LMIA issued on 5 Feb'2016 & is valid only until 6 Aug'2016.
Only managed to submit the application in 14 June 2016 due to delay in getting PCC from Qatar / UAE.
I have submitted RPRF as required as per my bank deposits statements along with my application.
Current Status: Medical pass, Back ground check in progress.
My question is there any possibility of RP application rejection as my LMIA is expired?
Pls provide feedback.

Thanks
Srikanth

You mean your LIMA will expire after you filed the application. This should not be a concern as the LIMA should be valid on the day when the application is filed and the same is the case for the PNP.

You don't have to inform the CIC. When you file the application, your points are locked and any changes after that will not affect the application. However, if you do change your address, you should update the same with the CIC.

Thanks for your reply but what if CIC contact my current employer and asked about me? Is that going to be a issue as i won't be working for them at that time.
I have one more question. I claimed 2 year experience and got points for that. I worked for first company for 1 year and 11.5 and after working for 15 days at 2nd company i completed my 2 year experience. My current company didn't provide me duties letter as i was in probation at that time of application but i uploaded my offer letter and pay stubs and attach LOE to explain that. so my i question do i need to update cic with duties letter or they will ask me if needed. I will have more points then cutoff of draw even if cic don't give me points for 2 year experince as i am pnp. Should i raise cse with duties letter then? Thanks
