Hello @legalfalcon ,

I became a Canadian PR on 21st September, 2022 by doing my landing in Canada. Post that, I came back to The Netherlands where I am currently working. My current citizenship is Indian and I will be eligible for the Dutch citizenship in January 2023 and am considering applying for the same. I do have a few questions on the same though:

1. Do I have to inform the Canadian authorities in case I apply for the Dutch citizenship? and/or once I get the Dutch citizenship.
Don't believe what the bot says, I know a real life story of someone who got into trouble a few years back when they changed citizenships. This happened in Australia for my colleague, an Indian who had taken Singapore citizenship, also had an Australian PR. He was travelling back from Singapore to Australia with his new Singapore passport , I'm not sure if he informed the Australian authorities about change in citizenship. I remember him saying he was sent back. I believe as per Indian laws at least those days 10-13 years back one had to give-up Indian citizenship after acquiring citizenship of another country. Hence his Aussie PR had to be updated with the new citizenship before he could use it again.
I would assume after getting Dutch citizenship and giving up you Indian passport, assuming that old Indian law is there still, you might have to do the needed update with IRCC, Please take legal advice do not depend on bot logic here.

Thanks @Lord_Tony for your inputs and I will keep your advice in mind. Although, my question was directed @legalfalcon and last I knew, this account was not managed by a bot and I had got some very helpful inputs from this user and hence reached out to the same user.

@legalfalcon Hi - I need your expert advice on following query.

I am CEC applicant, applied for PR in April 2023, have received AOR, and waiting for PR. My closed work permit is expiring in Oct 2023.
- Can I apply for BOWP? I have claimed 50 points for job offer (valid for 1 year post PR)
- Do I select "I have a valid job offer in questionnaire while applying for BOWP?
- Should I input existing employer's information while filling imm5710 form?
- Is IRCC going to grant me BOWP or extend closed work permit?

Thank you.

@legalfalcon - Please help!

My details:
CEC Inland PA with Outland Dependent
AOR - April 24th 2023
Medicals Passed - June 26th 2023
Change in marital status informed and updated (submitted upfront Medicals and spouse already had given biometrics once for visitor visa)- July 10th 2023
Got a letter for paying the biometrics fee for spouse on Aug 04th 2023 which was worded as “We are currently processing your permanent residence application and in order to make a decision we need the following information/documents”
Biometrics request for Spouse (new one for PR application) - Aug 08th 2023 (This is so frustrating since the letter was received on Aug 08th but had a date of July 25th 2023)
Biometrics Submitted for Spouse - Aug 11th 2023

The biometrics got updated in the portal but no further updates as of yet. Called IRCC and they said criminality check is in progress but on my tracker everything is showing as completed for both myself and the dependent. Can you make a sense of this situation? Please let me know!

PVO - Vancouver
SVO- Edmonton

TIA!

Yes, I have seen this before. The CRS score can change for a number of reasons, including:
  • Changes to your personal information, such as your age or education level.
  • Changes to the CRS points grid, which is updated periodically.
  • Technical errors.
In your case, it seems that the CRS score has been reduced due to a technical error. The CRS calculator shows that your spouse should be awarded 18 points for their first official language proficiency, but this is not being reflected in your profile.

I would recommend that you contact the IRCC technical support team to investigate this issue. You can do this by email or by phone. The contact information is available on the IRCC website.

Here are the steps on how to contact the IRCC technical support team:
  1. Go to the IRCC website.
  2. Click on "Contact us".
  3. Select "Technical support" from the list of options.
  4. Fill out the contact form and submit it.
The IRCC technical support team will investigate the issue and get back to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you can continue to check your Express Entry profile regularly to see if the CRS score has been corrected.

I hope this helps!

Hello @legalfalcon.My query was previously answered by Raptor33.
So I repeat again.I am the primary applicant AOR Nov 2021 and there are my 2 dependents .Criminality is passed for all 3 of us on 24 May 2023 and BG is COMPLETED for just me on 19 June 2023.However my dependents BG status (started with me last year in Sep 2022,making it almost 11 months now)is still in progress. What does it imply,do I have to wait for their BG status also completed and then PPR?????
Your guidance is highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance .

I have got an ADR for proof of funds and I submitted them .but still in tracker my eligibility shows not started. Is it not in eligibility they check finance ?? Also I undergone medicals on 2022 and it was showing completed in tracker. Last week I saw the medicals expiry date got automatically extended to one more year. Is this a good sign ? What does this mean. Please answer

Yes, proof of funds is usually reviewed as part of the eligibility assessment. However, there are a few possible reasons why your eligibility may not have been started yet, even after you submitted the ADR for proof of funds:
  • The IRCC may still be reviewing your other documents.
  • The IRCC may have additional questions about your proof of funds.
  • The IRCC may be waiting for additional information from you, such as a letter from your bank.
The automatic extension of your medicals expiry date is a good sign. It means that the IRCC is still considering your application and that they do not have any major concerns at this time.

I recommend that you wait for the IRCC to contact you before taking any further action. In the meantime, you can check the status of your application on the IRCC website.

Here are some additional tips for speeding up the eligibility assessment process:
  • Make sure that all of the information in your application is complete and accurate.
  • Provide the IRCC with any additional information that they may need, such as a letter from your bank.
  • Be patient and understanding. The eligibility assessment process can take some time, but it is important to remember that it is an important part of the immigration process.
I hope this helps!

Will this affect her current visa? Can she travel with the valid visa with old name or we need to have a new passport with new name?
2) will the name change affect when we apply for her pr or super visa ? I am canadian PR
* we have published her new name in Govt of India's Gazzet*

Thanks in advance.
