@legalfalcon : I just received GCMS notes and I see following notes:

1. Under my education details, I see Recognized university as NO but case analyst in last page mentioned as below,

Primary applicant ECA report verified on Issuing agency website; foreign credentials confirmed on ECA site ECA Canadian Equivalency summary reported by issuing agency as Diploma(2 Years) and Bachelor's degree (4 Years).

Do I need worry about Recognized university as NO?

Thanks in advance.

Can share the relevant note.

Hi @legalfalcon
In my PR application, under section my martial status I have mentioned 'Legally separated' and my divorce is still undergoing.
For the question :
Has xxxx been previously married or in a common-law relationship ?
1) shouldd I select Yes or No?

If I should select Yes, there are several questions popping up. I have concerns on 2 questions that pop-up (below)
1. 'Date previous marriage or common-law relationship ended?'
2. 'How did this relationship end?' with choices (Annulment, Divorce, Death of partner, Ended the common-law relationship)

Since our divorce is still in process, I don't have relationship end date as I am not yet divorced yet and have no answer to select for the question 'How did this relationship end'.

Please advise what I should answer in this section. Thanks in advance.
Legally Separated - This means that you are married but no longer living with your spouse.

If you have had any other marriage than the current one, then you select yes to the question as xxxx been previously married or in a common-law relationship ?

@legalfalcon : I have attached notes from middle page which has recognized Institution as NO. And also attached officer notes in the end pages. Please let me know if I need to worry about recognized Institution. Please click on below links

https://ibb.co/GMffxg0
https://ibb.co/0Q1QkHF
You have to check your ECA, does it show that the institution was not recognised.

IRCC has to take into account what the ECA states.

If your report shows that your credential isn’t equal to a completed Canadian credential or the foreign educational institution is not recognized:

  • you won’t meet the education requirement under the Federal Skilled Workers Program
  • you won’t get any points for it
Section 73(1) of the IRPR states:
“Canadian educational credential” means any diploma, certificate or credential, issued on the completion of a Canadian program of study or training at an educational or training institution that is recognized by the provincial authorities responsible for registering, accrediting, supervising and regulating such institutions.

“equivalency assessment” means a determination, issued by an organization or institution designated under subsection 75(4), that a foreign diploma, certificate or credential is equivalent to a Canadian educational credential and an assessment, by the organization or institution, of the authenticity of the foreign diploma, certificate or credential.

Section 75(8) of the IRP Regulations pertains to the evidentiary effect of the equivalency assessment:
Conclusive evidence
(8) For the purposes of paragraph (2)(e), subsection (2.1) and section 78, an equivalency assessment is conclusive evidence that the foreign diplomas, certificates or credentials are equivalent to Canadian educational credentials.

What matters here is what is on your ECA report.

I worked for a company from 2015-2018, which got renamed after my resignation. So I have taken my reference letter on the current company letterhead and explained the name change in a separate LOE with online press release links, registration certificate & company name change memo. Is that fine? @legalfalcon

@legalfalcon Please shed some light on the below POF queries which have contradictive opinions:

1. Is pof calculated according to current exchange rate? What if a very large amount above the minimum threshold is deposited before AOR. For example: According to the exchange rate during the time of account opening, the local currency deposited was equivalent to CA$18000 (for 2 people). But now it is equivalent to CA$16500...It may go down!

2. Does IRCC usually refer to the exchange rates from the below link or websites like XE.com?

https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/cgi-bin/recgen/er.pl?Language=E

because I have read somewhere that IRCC refers to the rates from the Bank of Canada. But unfortunately many other currencies including Srilankan rupee (LKR) is not available on that list

1. All that is required is that you have to have the prescribed PoF and that the PoF should be readily available and meet the 6 months average balance requirement. The 6 months average balance requirement is to ensure that the funds are yours and not borrowed. If you deposited a large sum, then you will have to show where the funds came from. If they are yours, transferred from another account, sale of an assert etc, you can show proof of it.

If it was a gift from your parents, then you can show gift deed and this too can be used to meet the 6 months average balance requirement.

To read more on PoF see https://bit.ly/2XMXtNY

2. IRCC used the quarterly published average balance and not the day to day one. Also, the average balance as on the date you submit your application matters.

Thanks @legalfalcon . ECA report has recognized institution for my BAchelors but for my diploma they didnt specify anything, particular row is not there. And also in assessment , they mentioned corresponding foreign education to canada education equivalent. 2 year diploma and 4 year Bachelors.

@legalfalcon I just want to ask about medical tests. Assume that IRCC did already extend my medicals for, let's say, 6 month. If I send them new medical results, will they extend it for another year? Or my new test results will be useless since they already extended my old ones?
And how can I know if they really had extended my previous medicals?

Thanks so much for your help!
