Hi @legalfalcon , I would like to ask something related to security screening. I have received my gcms notes where security is blanked out with s.15(1) on the top right, security under admissibilities is also blanked out for me and my spouse, just our name, family name, uci and type (security) is mentioned, under activity section, activity 1 is blanked out with just name and uci mentioned only rest details are blanked out and activity 2 has sub activity type of security and new value is blanked out.

Also after getting my eligibility passed, I received an ADR where they asked for the reason for my travel and how i financed them (I have extensive travel history).

Thanks in advance
The security related info in the GCMS notes is always redacted. See https://bit.ly/36aHoHj

If your eligibility is marked passed, you need not worry. IF it has been over 2-3 months since your eligibility was initiated and has still not been passed, then you may be in enhanced security screening. To read on this and the security screening manual, see https://bit.ly/3mT4SXj

Thanks a lot @legalfalcon for your reply, its been a month and I have ordered CBSA report just to ease my mind. Do you think above stated 2-3 months time frame between eligibility and security passed would still hold during this time also , where processing has been delayed.

@legalfalcon thanks for your response. How does this impact an application?
It has no impact on the processing of your application. On the contrary, if your application is picked up and considered essential, you may receive a PPR faster

For many applicants after the eligibility is passed, there security is not initiated and the file is kept on hold. Usually the security is done within 2-5 weeks unless the applicant is in enhanced security screening.

How do they consider application essential if I may ask? Also, I saw in one of your posts that people that got nominated by a province tend to have their applications processed faster. Kindly give insights on the two points/inquests above or if you have a post where you've discussed this extensively, please refer me.

Thanks for all that you do!

It is based on multiple factors. Your current country of residence, your NOC, if your country of residence has exit controls etc.

Oh, alright. Thank you.

How about PNP-nominated applications being processed faster? Any substance in that?
They used to be, but the CEC was always being processed fastest, and now all applications are all over the place.

Hello @legalfalcon, My spouse just got his UK visa rejected Post AOR due to insufficeint funds. Should i update IRCC about this development and is it likely to affect our application if i do due to the reason for the visa refusal. We provided enough POF.

Hi @legalfalcon

I hope you can help me. I will get married soon and I will be adding an accompanying spouse to my application (Outland FWS-Feb 2020), and I have some questions:
1- CRS Points will NOT be recalculated, right?
2- My future spouse is in Canada on a Study permit, its only coming back to the country get married and then will go back to Canada, do you see any interference of the study permit and the PR adding process?
3- Since i know that i will be asked for my spouse PCC and Medical exam, Is it ok if my future spouse get both of them before marriage date (we will not have a lot of time after our marriage because my spouse will go back to Canada and do the 14-day quarantine), or is it better to wait until IRCC request them?

Thank you, it is great what you do for all of us

1. If the family composition changes after the e-APR has been submitted, the family member added is not subject to eligibility assessment. However, the family member will have to be assessed for medical, criminal and security.

2. It does not matter what the status of your spouse in Canada is. Irrespective of whether your spouse is in Canada on a student visa, you will still have to file their documents and they will be subject to criminal, security and medical admissibility.

3. You will to submit them mot when IRCC asks, but after you inform IRCC, you will be asked to submit the following:
  • 1. An IMM8 Application
  • 2. Schedule A form for spouse
  • 3. Additional Family Information form for primary applicant and spouse.
  • 4. Fee receipt for spouse - Processing fee and right of permanent residence fee
  • 5. Birth Certificate of spouse, translation, and affidavit of translation (if applicable)
  • 6. Copy of Spouse's Passport
  • 7. Copy of marriage certificate and marriage registration
  • 8. Wedding Card and Photographs (or other proof of relationship)
  • 9. Police clearance certificate for the primary applicant and spouse
  • 10. Spouse's upfront medical
  • 11. Letter of Explanation (if required)

As regards PCC,
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row.

A visa rejection after the application is submitted need not be informed to IRCC. But you can sure send a webform and update.

Visa rejections of other countries have no bearing on your PR application.
