It is not about eligibility. An applicant has is obligated to maintain the CRS and the MEC based on the profile when the ITA was received as well as when the e-APR was filed.

@boilercat If you inadvertently added incorrect dates, you should send a webform and rectify it.

Alltough, a few days would not matter, as long as it does not reduce your CRS or MEC.
Thanks for the advice!

@legalfalcon

My CEC PR application is currently in progress (AOR AUG 5th) and still waiting for MEP&BIL.
I have amended and extended my closed WP recently which is valid till May 2022.Based on my WP validity we have submitted SP&OWP extensions (inland) for my dependents on the first week of June which is still in progress.
I called IRCC customer care yesterday and understand that my dependents SP&WP extensions are transferred to Etobicoke for further review.
Pls share your experience if anyone faced the same situation. Thanks

I need help to decide my NOC Code. my application has gotten delayed by over a month now because of this issue. i would really appreciate if you can spare a minute or two to go through my case

I am currently working in my father's International courier (logistics) business. although I joined his business part-time right after I finish my schooling in 2015. along with that, I studied full time for my bachelor's degree from 2015 to 2018. after University. I joined him full time and I manage almost the entire business now. My IELTS and ECA are done. I have proof of all of the employment records from 2015 to date, with income tax returns, payslip, and bank statements. I am finding it very hard to choose a NOC as I am involved in all departments of the business.

I have two questions:-

- can i count my part-time work as experience and will i get extra points for it?
-Should I be choosing 1122 of 1215 or something else
following are my job responsibilities
I would really appreciate your help as my application has gotten delayed for months over this

What NOC you select does not matter. What matter's is that your jib duties listed in your work reference letter should substantially match the job duties of the NOC selected. Your designation, education, or NOC you slelect is not relevant.

If you are self employed, then along with your work reference letter you will have to include:

Document requirements
  • The personalized document checklist in applicants’ online account prompts the applicant with an upload field for each work experience declared.
  • At the completeness check, the processing office determines only whether the required documents are included. The validity or fraudulence of the information is assessed only if and when the application is placed into processing.
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:
  • a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
    • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
  • if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

If you were trying to use ECAS (Electronic Client Application Status), this was the most important tool pre EE to track an application and provided much more in-depth status than what MyCIC does. However, after the IRCC moved to the Global Case Management System (AKA GCMS) applications are no longer linked to ECAS.

Some applicants will still see their application details, for others MyCIC will only be the available.

Hi Legalfalcon

In my passport, there is no surname. In real life, I have always used my father's name as the family name (IELTS, TCF Canada, educational degrees etc.). With that in mind, I created my EE profile, giving my first name as my given name and my father's name as family name. However, now I realize that was not the right way to do it. As per CIC guidelines, if there is no surname in one's passport, one is supposed to write one's given names in the surname field.

The thing is, I have received my ITA now and I can't change my profile. I can still change my info in the eAPR (I am a FSW) by clicking on the 'Modify family information' button. This is what I have in mind: I will remove my father's name from the surname field and write my given name in its place. Therefore, my given name and surname field will have my first name in my eAPR. I will explain the situation in the LoE. Is this the right thing to do, or should I decline the ITA, return to the pool, modify my profile and wait for the next draw and hope for ITA?

Come to think of it, even if I do this, I will still have to explain the name discrepancy between my passport (which has no surname) and my other documents (which have my father's name as my surname). I guess I should just go ahead with the current eAPR and hope they accept my LoE. Waiting to hear the legend's take on this.

There is no need to decline the ITA. You can do as stated above and include an LoE and explain. However, in the filed where it is asked if you have used any other name, write your name with your father's name as the last name.

Your passport is your identity document and the details in there will be used for all your legal work.

My ECA expires Jan 15, 2021. I used it to get 50 points for my education in my pending application for CEC Inland. My AOR is May 16, 2020. Do you think I should go for a new ECA due to the covid delay or is the date of ECA locked in at AOR date. Thanks for your informed opinion

You do not need to sit for the test again.

All documents have to valid as on the day the application is filed. For ECA, it should not be more than five years from the date of issue. If your ECA expires after your submit your E-APR, you need not worry as the application is locked on the day you submit it.
